John Hyslop Steele (15 November 1926 – 4 November 2013) was a British oceanographer who made major contributions to the study of marine ecosystems.

Harold Clark Simmons (May 13, 1931 – December 29, 2013) was an American businessman, investor, and philanthropist whose banking expertise helped him develop the acquisition concept known as the leveraged buyout (LBO) to acquire various corporations. He was the owner of Contran Corporation and of Valhi, Inc., (a NYSE traded company about 90% controlled by Contran). As of 2006, he controlled five public companies traded on the New York Stock Exchange: NL Industries; Titanium Metals Corporation, the world's largest producer of titanium; Valhi, Inc., a multinational company with operations in the chemicals, component products, Waste Control Specialists (waste management), titanium metals industries; CompX International, manufacturer of ergonomic products, and Kronos Worldwide, leading producer and marketer of titanium dioxide.

Marek Norbert Jackowski (December 11, 1946 – May 18, 2013) was a Polish rock musician, best known as a member of the rock band Maanam.

Don Manuel García Escobar MML (19 October 1931 – 24 October 2013), better known as Manolo Escobar, was a Spanish singer of Andalusian copla and other Spanish music. He was also an actor and performed in multiple musicals. His popular songs include "El porompompero" (1962), "Mi carro" (1969), "La minifalda", and "Y viva España".

Andrea Cipriano Brambilla (21 August 1946 − 24 October 2013), better known as Zuzzurro, was an Italian actor and comedian.
Zuzzurro was born on 21 August 1946 in Varese. He was a former member of Zuzzurro e Gaspare with Nino Formicola (Gaspare).
In September 2013, it was reported Zuzzurro had lung cancer. He subsequently died of the illness on 24 October 2013, aged 67, in Milan.

Luisa Rivelli (10 February 1931 – 12 June 2013) was an Italian film actress. She appeared in 50 films between 1951 and 1994.Rivelli died in Guidonia Montecelio on 12 June 2013, at the age of 82.

Eldred Gee Smith (January 9, 1907 – April 4, 2013) was the patriarch to the church of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) from 1947 to 1979. From 1979 to his death he was the patriarch emeritus of the church. He was the oldest and longest-serving general authority in the history of the church, although he had not been active in that capacity from 1979 to his death.

Franca Rame (18 July 1929 – 29 May 2013) was an Italian theatre actress, playwright and political activist. She was married to Nobel laureate playwright Dario Fo and is the mother of writer Jacopo Fo. Fo dedicated his Nobel Prize to her.

Aloysius Valente (15 October 1926 – 23 March 2013) was a Norwegian dancer, choreographer and stage instructor. He was born in Oslo. He made his breakthrough in the performance Veslefrikk med fela, based on a traditional fairytale. This story was later basis for the first Norwegian dance film from 1953, where he played the title role. He later worked for a number of institutions, including Nationaltheatret, Den Nationale Scene, Det Norske Teatret and Den Norske Opera, and also produced television shows.

Piero Mazzarella (2 March 1928 – 25 October 2013) was an Italian actor. He appeared in more than thirty films from 1962 to 2008.
