Elenora Albrecht Cawthon (1917-2016) was a professor and university leader at Louisiana Tech. She served as president of the College Placement Council in 1972-1973 and was an officer of the American Association of University Women in the 1950s.
Robert Mahealani Ming Seto (born Robert Ming Seto in 1936) is a law professor, and a former judge of the United States Court of Federal Claims from 1982 to 1987.
Born in Canton, China, Seto received a Bachelor of Science in chemistry from Saint Louis University in 1962, and a Juris Doctor from the Saint Louis University School of Law in 1968. He later received an LL.M. in Government Contract Law from the George Washington University Law School.Seto was an assistant circuit attorney for the Felony Division of St. Louis, Missouri from 1968 to 1969, then became patent counsel to Monsanto Chemical Co. from 1969 to 1970, and deputy corporation counsel in the Division of Legal Memorandums and Opinions for the City and County of Honolulu, Hawaii, from 1970 to 1971. Seto then held several staff positions in the United States Senate, serving as Republican Minority Counsel to the U.S. Senate Special Committee on Aging from 1971 to 1973, then as legislative counsel to the Subcommittee on Immigration and Naturalization of the U.S. Senate Committee on the Judiciary in 1974, and then chief patent counsel to U.S. Sen. Hiram Fong of Hawaii, for the Subcommittee on Patents, Trademarks, and Copyrights, U.S. Senate Committee on the Judiciary, from 1975 to 1976.Seto was a senior patent litigation attorney for the United States International Trade Commission from 1976 to 1981. He became a trial judge of the United States Court of Claims in 1981, and on October 1, 1982 he was elevated by operation of law to a new seat on the United States Court of Federal Claims authorized by 96 Stat. 27. He resigned on June 20, 1987, to become an administrative judge for the Board of Contract Appeals of the United States Department of Agriculture, a position he held until 1998. Since 1998, Seto has been a professor at Regent University School of Law.In 2005, Seto "suffered a debilitating stroke that impaired him both physically and emotionally". In a disciplinary action in 2011, Seto agreed to be voluntarily suspended from practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office for four years for misconduct in connection with the practice of his son, Jeffrey. The settlement stipulated that Seto had "assisted his son in the unauthorized practice of patent and trademark law while his son was employed as a patent examiner at the Office", a position that precluded the son from practicing before the office. Seto was reciprocally suspended from practice by the Supreme Court of Hawaii on January 5, 2012, and by the Supreme Court of the United States on April 30, 2012.
Wiley Henry Mosley is an epidemiologist and international public health professional. He is Emeritus Professor in the Department of Population, Family and Reproductive Health at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.Mosley has published over 140 scientific papers on infectious and parasitic diseases, demographic and population studies, reproductive health, child survival, and population and health policy in developing countries. His field trials on cholera vaccines in East Pakistan (now Bangladesh) in the 1960s, including serological surveys of cholera antibodies, provided a basic understanding of cholera immunology and led to the removal of the WHO International Quarantine Regulation requiring 6-monthly cholera injections for all international travelers. His operational research on contraceptive distribution in rural Bangladesh in the 1970s laid the foundation for the country's national family planning program. In the 1980s, working with Lincoln C. Chen, he developed an analytical framework for child survival research that is widely cited by researchers and has been designated by the WHO as a Public Health Classic.In the 1990s he joined with Dean Jamison at the World Bank to produce the first edition of Disease Control Priorities in Developing Countries. He initiated the Matlab Demographic Surveillance System in rural Bangladesh in 1966 and led the establishment of the International Center for Diarrheal Disease Research, Bangladesh in 1979.

James Berton "Bert" Rhoads (September 17, 1928 – April 7, 2015) served as fifth Archivist of the United States. He was born in Sioux City, Iowa. Rhoads received his B.A., in 1950, and M.A., in 1952, from the University of California at Berkeley. He earned his Ph.D. in History from American University in Washington, D.C., in 1965.Rhoads joined the National Archives in 1952 and was named National Archivist of the United States in 1968.

T. Alan Hurwitz (born September 17, 1942) is an American educator who served as the tenth President of Gallaudet University from 2010 to 2015. He is the first person born deaf, and first Jew, to hold this position. Previously, he served as President of the National Technical Institute for the Deaf and Vice President and Dean of Rochester Institute of Technology. He served in a variety of other roles for most of NTID's 40-year history.
Hurwitz attended the Central Institute for the Deaf.Hurwitz started at NTID in 1970 as an educational specialist in RIT's College of Engineering after working for McDonnell Douglas Corp. since 1965. He subsequently held a number of progressively more responsible positions, including Support Department Chair for Engineering and Computer Science Programs, Director for NTID Support Services, Associate Dean for Educational Support Services Programs, Associate Vice President for NTID Outreach and External Affairs, and Associate Dean for Student Affairs.
Hurwitz has been active in a variety of professional and deafness-related organizations and serves on a number of boards of organizations serving deaf persons, including the Rochester School for the Deaf and the National Captioning Institute. He is a former president of the National Association of the Deaf (NAD), and has traveled and lectured extensively nationally and internationally.
He earned a B.S. in electrical engineering from Washington University in St. Louis, an M.S. in electrical engineering from Saint Louis University, and an Ed.D. in curriculum and teaching from the University of Rochester.
On October 18, 2009, Hurwitz was selected as the 10th president of Gallaudet University. He took office on January 1, 2010.Hurwitz retired on December 31, 2015, with Roberta Cordano succeeding him as the eleventh president of Gallaudet University.
Hurwitz was born profoundly deaf, to deaf parents.

Gebbie previously served as the AIDS Policy Coordinator (or "AIDS Czar") from 1993 to 1994.
Tarcísio Meirelles Padilha (17 April 1928 – 9 September 2021) was a Brazilian philosopher and chairman of the Brazilian Academy of Letters. He was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on 17 April 1928, the son of Raymundo Delmiriano Padilha and D. Mayard Meirelles Padilha. In 1951, he married Ruth Maria Fortuna Padilha, and the couple has six children.
