Charles Gustave Auguste le Bargy (28 August 1858 – 5 February 1936) was a French actor and early film director.
He was born at La Chapelle (Seine). His talent both as a comedian and a serious actor was soon made evident, and he became a member of the Comédie-Française, his chief successes being in such plays as Le Duel, L'Enigme, Le Marquis de Priola, L'Autre Danger, and Le Dedale. His wife, Simone Le Bargy (née Benda), an accomplished actress, made her debut at the Gymnase in 1902, and in later years had a great success in La Rafale and of her plays. In 1910 he had differences with the authorities of the Comédie-Française and ceased to be a societaire.He acted in and directed several early French films, starting with L'Assassinat du duc de Guise (1908) and La Tosca (1909).

Édouard Luntz (8 August 1931 – 26 February 2009) was a French film director. He directed nine films between 1959 and 1973. His 1966 film Les coeurs verts was entered into the 16th Berlin International Film Festival and his 1970 film Le dernier saut was entered into the 1970 Cannes Film Festival.

Sophie Fillières (20 November 1964 – 31 July 2023) was a French film director and screenwriter who wrote for more than fifteen film and television productions from 1991 on.Fillières died on 31 July 2023, at the age of 58.

Maurice Dugowson (23 September 1938 – 11 November 1999) was a French film director and screenwriter. His 1975 film Lily, aime-moi was entered into the 25th Berlin International Film Festival. The following year, his film F comme Fairbanks was entered into the 26th Berlin International Film Festival. In 1981 his film Bye, See You Monday was entered into the 12th Moscow International Film Festival.

Maurice Cam (1901–1974) was a French film director. He directed fourteen films between 1939 and 1967 as well as working as assistant director and other various jobs in the film industry.
Cam was originally an illustrator, who worked on film posters. Cam made his directoral debut with the 1939 thriller Metropolitan, set partly on the Paris Métro. The film was a hit, and was remade the following year in Britain as A Window in London.

Bernard Bonvoisin (French pronunciation: [bɛʁnaʁ bɔ̃vwazɛ̃]), known as Bernie Bonvoisin (French pronunciation: [bɛʁni bɔ̃vwazɛ̃], born 9 July 1956 in Nanterre, Hauts-de-Seine), is a French hard rock singer and film director. He is best known for having been the singer of Trust.
He was one of the best friends of Bon Scott the singer of AC/DC and together they recorded the song "Ride On" which was one of the last songs by Bon Scott.

Jean-Louis Bertuccelli (3 June 1942 – 6 March 2014) was a French film director and screenwriter. He died in March 2014, aged 71.

Jean-Pierre Denis (born 29 March 1946) is a French film director and screenwriter. He has directed seven films since 1980. His directorial debut Adrien's Story won the Caméra d'Or at the 1980 Cannes Film Festival. His film Field of Honor was entered into the 1987 Cannes Film Festival.

Francis Girod (9 October 1944 – 19 November 2006) was a French film director, actor, and screenwriter. He directed 20 films between 1974 and 2006. His film L'enfance de l'art was entered into the 1988 Cannes Film Festival. In 1994 he was a member of the jury at the 44th Berlin International Film Festival.

René Wheeler (8 February 1912 - 11 December 2000) was a French screenwriter and film director. He co-wrote the story of the film A Cage of Nightingales (1945) with Georges Chaperot, for which they both received an Academy Award nomination in 1947. Their story would later serve as an inspiration for the hugely successful film The Chorus (2004). Wheeler also co-wrote the screenplay for the 1955 heist film Rififi.
