Michel Lentz (21 May 1820 – 8 September 1893) was a Luxembourg poet. He is best known for having written Ons Hémécht, the national anthem of Luxembourg.

Joseph Probst (1911–1997) was a Luxembourg painter who, in 1954, was one of the founder members of the Iconomaques group of abstract painters who opposed figurative art.

Michel Stoffel (1903–1963) was a Luxembourg artist and author. He also worked for a time in the insurance sector. Together with Joseph Kutter, he is considered to be one of Luxembourg's most prominent painters.

Henri Kirpach (2 March 1841 – 25 April 1911) was a Luxembourgish politician and lawyer.
Kirpach was born in 1841 in Mamer. After studying in Heidelberg and Paris, he started business in Luxembourg City as a lawyer.
In 1870 he was first elected into the Chamber of Deputies.
On 6 August 1878 he became Director-General (Minister) for the Interior in the Blochausen Ministry. From 1885, he remained in this post in the Eyschen government, up until 1910.
His name is connected with the education law of 20 April 1881, also known as the loi Kirpach ("Kirpach law"), which made school attendance mandatory between the ages of 6 and 12. This reform provoked bitter debates over the role of the state in society and the relations between church and state. The law also provided for a single system of public schools, and made it the state's duty to organise education. At the same time, however, the church remained involved, since the local parish priest was an ex officio member of the local commune's school commission, and the schoolteacher was under his supervision.On 1 January 1910 Henri Kirpach became a member of the Council of State.
He died in 1913 in Luxembourg City.

Marie Haps (1879–1939) was a Luxembourg-born Belgian educationalist, the founder of what subsequently became the Institut Libre Marie Haps (now part of the Haute École Léonard de Vinci) and the Marie Haps Faculty of Translation and Interpreting (Saint-Louis University, Brussels).

John Hampton (May 24, 1907 – July 4, 2010) was an American retired Marine Lieutenant Colonel and former journalist. Hampton is credited with co-founding Toys for Tots with Major William L. Hendricks and other U.S. Marines during the late 1940s.Hampton was born on May 24, 1907. Hampton received a bachelor's degree in journalism from Baylor University. He worked as a journalist for several wire services and newspapers in Texas, Louisiana and Kansas following his graduation. Hampton enlisted in the United States Marines during World War II and was sent to the Pacific theater. He coded and decoded encrypted messages during the war.Hampton was stationed at a Marine Reserve training center in Los Angeles following the end of World War II, where he worked as a public information officer. He would meet Major William L. Hendricks at the Los Angeles center, who would co-found Toys for Tots. Hendricks, who was public relations officer for Warner Bros. by profession, created a campaign to place collection bins for toys outside of Warner Bros movie theaters, which evolved into Toys for Tots. Hendricks partnered with Hampton to lead the toy collections in the area. Hampton also used his journalism experience to promote the campaign.Hampton later moved to the San Francisco Bay Area, where he practiced public relations in Oakland. His wife was journalist Nora Hampton, who worked for the Oakland Tribune. The couple resided in Orinda, California, until his wife's death on November 24, 1994.Hampton began showing symptoms of dementia in 2000. He died on July 4, 2010, at the Deer Hill Care Home in Lafayette, California, at the age of 103. His son, Mikey Hampton, died in 2006, leaving no close relatives.

Charles (Carl Michael) Bernhoeft (22 July 1859 – 1933) was a photographer in Luxembourg, where he took portraits of the Grand Ducal court as well as numerous landscapes which he turned into postcards.
