Bruce Raymond Barmes (October 23, 1929 – January 25, 2014), nicknamed "Squeaky", was an American professional baseball player.
An outfielder, Barmes had an outstanding minor league career, notching a .318 career batting average and 1,627 hits in 1,439 games played over eleven full seasons (1950–60). He made All-Star teams in the Florida State League in 1950 and the Tri-State League in 1952, when he won the batting title with the Charlotte Hornets, and he helped his teams win league championships in his first three seasons of professional baseball. However, his major league career was simply a Cup of coffee during a late September call-up with the 1953 Washington Senators.
Barmes batted left-handed, threw right-handed, stood 5 feet 8 inches (1.73 m) tall and weighed 165 pounds (75 kg). His MLB debut came when he replaced Jackie Jensen as Washington's right fielder in the first game of a doubleheader at Griffith Stadium against the Detroit Tigers on September 13. He handled two chances in the field without an error and grounded out to second baseman Fred Hatfield against Ned Garver in his only at bat. Barmes' other four MLB appearances came as a pinch hitter. He earned his only MLB hit with a pinch single off Bob Trice of the Philadelphia Athletics on September 26.Bruce Barmes was the uncle of MLB infielder Clint Barmes.

Colonel James Helms Kasler (May 2, 1926 – April 24, 2014) was a senior officer in the United States Air Force and the only person to be awarded the Air Force Cross three times. The Air Force Cross ranks just below the Medal of Honor as an award for extraordinary heroism in combat.
Kasler was a combat veteran of World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. In Korea, as an F-86 Sabre pilot with the 4th Fighter-Interceptor Wing, he was recognized as an ace, credited with shooting down 6 MiG-15s. Kasler flew a combined 198 combat missions and was a prisoner of war in North Vietnam from August 1966 until March 1973.
He flew a total of 101 combat missions in an F-86E Sabre and scored 6 confirmed air-to-air victories and two more damaged against MiG-15s, becoming among the first jet aces of the Korean War.

Roger Winfred Birkman (February 1, 1919 – March 26, 2014) was an American organizational psychologist. He was the creator of The Birkman Method, a workplace psychological assessment. Birkman received his Ph.D. in psychology in 1961 from the University of Texas at Austin. He was the founder and chairman of the board of Birkman International, Inc.

John Douglas Driggs (June 16, 1927 – December 11, 2014) was an American politician. He served as mayor of Phoenix, Arizona from 1970 to 1974.

Joseph E. Dini, Jr. (March 28, 1929 – April 10, 2014) was a Nevada state assemblyman, casino owner, from Yerington, Nevada. In 1996 Dini was ranked the tenth most influential Nevadan in a survey conducted by the Las Vegas Sun, a list that included Steve Wynn, Bill Raggio, then Governor Bob Miller and former Governor Mike O'Callaghan.

Emilio Botín-Sanz de Sautuola García de los Ríos, iure uxoris Marquess of O'Shea (1 October 1934 – 10 September 2014) was a Spanish banker. He was the executive chairman of Spain's Grupo Santander. In 1993 his bank absorbed Banco Español de Crédito (Banesto), and in 1999 it merged with Banco Central Hispano creating Banco Santander Central Hispano (BSCH), which became Spain's largest bank, of which he was co-president with Central Hispano's José María Amusategui, until Amusategui retired in 2002. In 2004, BSCH acquired the British bank Abbey National, making BSCH the second largest bank in Europe by market capitalisation. He was known for his obsession with growth and performance as well as regularly visiting branches.

Rémi Fraisse (French pronunciation: [ʁemi fʁɛs]; August 31, 1993 in Toulouse – October 26, 2014 in Lisle-sur-Tarn) was a French botanist involved in nature conservation. He was killed by the explosion of an OF-F1 grenade. The projectile was fired by an officer of the French police and his family are bringing charges against him. Fraisse died at the age of 21 during protests against the construction of the Sivens Dam.
