Robert J. Sherwood Jr. (May 30, 1914 – January 23, 1981) was an American guitarist, trumpeter, bandleader, actor and radio host.

Sir Hans Heysen (8 October 1877 – 2 July 1968) was an Australian artist. He became a household name for his watercolours of monumental Australian gum trees. One of Australia's best known landscape painters, he is remembered for his depictions of sheep and cattle among massive gum trees against a background of atmospheric effects of light, of men and animals toiling in the Australian bush, and arid landscapes in the Flinders Ranges. He won the Wynne Prize for landscape painting a record nine times.

Karl Diehl (March 27, 1864, Frankfurt – May 12, 1943 in Freiburg im Breisgau) was a German economist and professor who taught from 1908 until his death in Freiburg. He taught at the universities of Heidelberg and Freiburg, known for teaching on the subject of Anarchism.The motivating force behind his scholarship was that academia must counter the idea that "...anarchism represents a criminal sect which lacks any social or political programme..." According to one historian on German reformers, Diehl had acquired a reputation as the "most important authority on socialism, communism, and anarchism," comparable only to Werner Sombart.

Herbert Bruce Alford Sr. (September 12, 1922 – May 8, 2010) was an American football end in the National Football League (NFL) for the New York Yanks. He also played football in the All-America Football Conference (AAFC) for the New York Yankees. Alford played college football at Texas Christian University (TCU). Alford was an all Southwest Conference end in 1941 and 1942 was named MVP in the 1942 Orange Bowl and received Rogers Trophy in 1942, awarded to the TCU Most Valuable Player. He served in World War II for the United States Army.After retiring from playing, he was a line judge in the NFL for 20 seasons, from 1960 to 1979, working three Super Bowls (II, VII, IX), wearing number 24. His son, Bruce Alford Jr., also played in the NFL.

James Dickey (March 22, 1934 – February 17, 2018) was an American college football player and coach. He served as the head football coach at Kansas State University from 1978 to 1985, compiling record of 24–54–2. In 1981, he redshirted 18 players, including eight seniors and almost all of his best players. With all of those players returning the following season in 1982, Dickey led Kansas State to their first bowl game appearance in school history, the Independence Bowl, where they lost to the Wisconsin Badgers. 1982 was also the first winning season for the program since 1970 under head coach Vince Gibson.After opening the 1985 season with two consecutive losses to I-AA teams, Dickey was forced to resign on September 15. Assistant athletic director Lee Moon coached the team for the remainder of the season posting a 1–8 record.
Dickey was the father of the former Kansas State quarterback and former head football coach at the University of North Texas, Darrell Dickey. He died on February 17, 2018, at the age of 83.

Juan Guzmán Cruchaga (March 27, 1895 – July 21, 1979) was a Chilean poet and diplomat. He won the Chilean National Prize for Literature in 1962. Guzman Cruchaga was of Basque descent.
He was the son of Juan José Guzmán Guzmán and Amelia Cruchaga Aspillaga.
He attended the colegio de San Ignacio from 1905, finishing his humanities subjects in 1912. In 1913 he enrolled into the Faculty of Law of Universidad de Chile, quitting during his third year there.
He was hired as an employee at the Court of Accounts, job which he fulfilled until 1917. He collaborated with the Zig-Zag magazine, becoming a poet in his own right, later publishing his first book: "Juan al Brasero".
He began travelling in 1917, briefly returning to Chile from time to time. He then was named consul at Tampico, México, which would only be the first diplomatic post he acquired.
He continued writing, becoming famous, culminating in being the recipient of the Chilean National Literary Prize in 1962.
Juan Guzmán Cruchaga died in Viña del Mar on 21 July 1979. He was married to Raquel Tapia Caballero. He is the father of former judge Juan Guzmán Tapia.

Marco Manuel Avellaneda (18 June 1813 – 3 October 1841) was the governor of Tucumán Province in Argentina, and father of the Argentine President Nicolás Avellaneda.
He was executed after an unsuccessful revolt against the Federal government, and his head was displayed on a pike.
