Luis César Amadori (28 May 1902 – 5 June 1977) was an Italian-Argentine film director and screenwriter and one of the most influential directors in the cinema of Argentina of the classic era. He directed over 60 films between 1936 and 1967, writing the scripts to over 50 pictures.
Amadori directed films such as Apasionadamente (1944), the critically acclaimed Albéniz (1947) and Alma fuerte (1949).
Paul Joseph Verhoeven (23 June 1901 – 22 March 1975) was a German actor as well as a film and theatre director.
Steno, the artistic name of Stefano Vanzina (19 January 1917 – 13 March 1988), was an Italian film director, screenwriter and cinematographer. Two of his films, Un giorno in pretura (1954) and Febbre da cavallo (1976), were shown in a retrospective section on Italian comedy at the 67th Venice International Film Festival.
Florestano Vancini (24 August 1926 – 18 September 2008) was an Italian film director and screenwriter.
He directed over 20 films since 1960. His 1966 film Le stagioni del nostro amore, starring Enrico Maria Salerno, was entered into the 16th Berlin International Film Festival. His 1973 film The Assassination of Matteotti was entered into the 8th Moscow International Film Festival where it won a Special Prize. In 1999 he was a member of the jury at the 21st Moscow International Film Festival.
Sergio Sollima (17 April 1921 – 1 July 2015) was an Italian film director and script writer.
Günther Lüders (5 March 1905 – 1 March 1975) was a German actor. He appeared in more than 120 films between 1934 and 1975. He lived in Urfeld am Walchensee from 1954 until 1975.
Carlo Domenico Sartori (born 10 February 1948) is an Italian former footballer.
Born in Caderzone, Italy, the Sartoris moved to Manchester when Carlo was a child, and he grew up in the Collyhurst area of the city.
He came through the Manchester United youth team in the mid-1960s and was one of the first non-British or Irish players to come up through the junior ranks at the club. He signed as an apprentice with the club in July 1963, at the age of 15, turned professional at the age of 17, and made his debut for the club in October 1968, coming on as a substitute for Francis Burns in a 2–2 away draw against Tottenham Hotspur, becoming the club's very first non-British or Irish player.
He left in 1973, with a total of 55 appearances and 6 goals for Manchester United, and returned to Italy to sign for Bologna where he was part of the team that won the Coppa Italia 1973–74. He would later play for Lecce, SPAL 1907, Rimini and Trentino before retiring in 1984. With US, Lecce won the Serie C title in 1975–1976 and, most importantly, the Anglo–Italian Cup by defeating Scarborough in the championship game (4-1).
Roland Lethem (born 1942) is a Belgian filmmaker and writer.
Influenced at his beginnings by Buñuel, Cocteau, the surrealists and by the Japanese cinema (Seijun Suzuki, Ishirō Honda, Kōji Wakamatsu, Yoko Ono), stunned by the Festival of the film expérimental of Knokke in 1967 and by May 1968, Roland Lethem wants to push the people to look at the things of which they say they are freed, it's to say to place them in front of their responsibilities. Even if sometimes the results leaves much to be desired, the idea of each one of his films is seductive and exemplary. A fact is
certain, his films are disturbing, they are sometimes unpleasant to look at. The narcissistic and provocative play of the debuts turned itself into direct, visual, and verbal insult, and in slandering. His dream was one moment to be able to film the intimate life of the pope or the sexual plays of the Belgian sovereigns. Through violence, pornography and cruelty of some scenes, Roland Lethem is a gentle, generous man with of a lot of humour. The work of Roland Lethem evolves, becomes political, ecological. La Ballade des amants maudits (The Ballad of the cursed lovers, 1966) or La Fée sanguinaire (The Bloodthirsty Fairy, 1968) still tell stories. Les Souffrances d'un oeuf meurtri (The Sufferings of a ravaged Egg, 1967), poem of love in several parts (Étoiles/Stars, Corps/Bodies, Hymen/Marriage or Hymen (ambiguous in French), Oeuf/Egg) dedicated to all who conceive and to all who are conceived, irresistibly makes you think at the Histoire de l'oeil (Story of the Eye, 1928) of Georges Bataille.
Some of the titles of his films include Le Saigneur est avec nous and Le sexe enragé. There are several thorough studies published on his films (Cinema/London, Skoop/Amsterdam) and
Bandes de cons! (Bunch of Assholes!, 1970), his most famous film, was the subject of a seminar at the University of Amsterdam.
He frequently collaborated with Jean-Pierre Bouyxou and Jio Berk.
Salvatore Samperi (26 July 1944 – 4 March 2009) was an Italian film director. His 1973 film Malicious was entered into the 23rd Berlin International Film Festival and his 1979 film Ernesto was entered into the 29th Berlin International Film Festival.
