Karin Bang (3 December 1928 – 20 August 2017) was a Norwegian poet, novelist, children's writer and crime fiction writer.

Anne-Lisa Amadou (4 March 1930 – 19 March 2002) was a Norwegian literary researcher.
She was born in Oslo. In 1966 she took her Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree with a thesis on Marcel Proust.
She was a Professor of French literature at the University of Oslo from 1970 to 1982. In 1981 she was awarded the Bastian Prize for her translation of In Search of Lost Time. (French: A la recherche du temps perdu) and, in 1984, the Fritt Ord Honorary Award.

Knud Henning Mørland (27 March 1903 – 22 August 1989), was a Norwegian classical scholar and translator.
Mørland graduated from high school in 1921 and received his candidatus philologiæ degree with a major in Latin and a minor in Greek and history in 1927. He studied abroad in Germany, France and Sweden where he attended seminars on Late Latin by Einar Löfstedt. He earned his PhD in 1932 with a dissertation on Latin translations of the Greek physician Oribasius. He served as professor of classical philology at the University of Oslo from 1949 to 1973. His research interests included the use of names in the works of Virgil as well as comparative constructions in Latin.Mørland was a productive translator of classical literature at a time when few of the central works had been translated into bokmål. He published 19 volumes of translations – over 5,000 pages – comprising texts by Plato, Apuleius, Cicero, Tacitus, Herodotus and Xenophon. His translations received generally positive reviews; however, his choice to put readability first even if it meant sacrificing some of the authors' individual stylistic characteristics was sometimes criticized. His translation of the History of the Peloponnesian War was particularly praised and was re-published in 2007.Apart from translations, Mørland also published several textbooks as well as a new edition of Latinsk ordbok, a Latin-Norwegian dictionary by Jan Johanssen, Marius Nygaard and Emil Schreiner.Mørland was elected member of several learned societies: of the Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters in 1943, the Norwegian Academy in 1973 and the Royal Society of the Humanities at Uppsala in 1964.

Kate Næss (30 July 1938 – 15 July 1987) was a Norwegian poet and translator. She was born in Oslo, and was married to theatre director Janken Varden. She made her literary debut in 1962 with the poetry collection Billedskrift. Later collections were Mørkerommet from 1964 and Blindgjengere from 1969. She was among the pioneers of Club 7 in Oslo, and is credited for inventing the name of the club. Poet Jan Erik Vold has labeled her the "secret queen of the sixties".

Klaus Hagerup (5 March 1946 – 20 December 2018) was a Norwegian author, translator, screenwriter, actor and director. He was also known for his role of Tom in the film The Chieftain (1984).

Finn Halse (26 August 1910 – 9 April 1980) was a Norwegian jurist, publisher, translator and writer. He was born in Kristiania. He made his literary debut in 1948 with the novel Guden fra Matto Grosso. Halse wrote more the 300 books during his career, and is regarded as the Norwegian writer with the highest number of published books. He wrote westerns, crime novels and erotic novels, published under a variety of pseudonyms. He died in Mallorca in 1980.

Marcellin Gilbert Desboutin (Cérilly 26 August 1823 – 18 February 1902 Nice) was a French painter, printmaker, and writer. Desboutin always signed himself Baron de Rochefort.

Magli Elster (née Raknes; 21 November 1912 – 11 May 1993) was a Norwegian psychoanalyst, literary critic, poet and translator. She received the Fritt Ord Award, jointly with her husband Torolf Elster.
