Norwegian stage actresses

Elna Kimmestad (30 July 1918 – 21 March 1997) was a Norwegian actress.
She was born in Kristiania (now Oslo), Norway. She made her stage debut in the play Erasmus Montanus at Trøndelag Teater in 1942. She worked at Den Nationale Scene from 1944 to 1945, at Trøndelag Teater again from 1945 to 1948, at Den Nationale Scene from 1948 to 1951, Rogaland Teater from 1951 to 1952, Riksteatret from 1952 to 1953, Trøndelag Teater again from 1953 to 1969 and then the National Theatre from 1969. Her specialty was comedy. She also appeared on the screen. She was married to actor Kjell Stormoen (1921–2010) from 1945 and was the mother of actress Even Stormoen.

Kari Simonsen (born 5 June 1937) is a Norwegian actress. She made her professional stage debut at Folketeatret in 1959. She was appointed at Oslo Nye Teater from 1960 to 1972, and at Nationaltheatret from 1974. She has also played for radio and television, and had guest appearances at the revue stages Chat Noir and Edderkoppen. Simonsen is the mother of philosopher Herman Cappelen.
She received the Amanda Honorary Award for 2001.

Sossen Krohg (born Sossen Anker Olsen; 18 December 1923 – 12 February 2016) was a Norwegian playwright and stage and film actress.

Ingerid Vardund (24 April 1927 – 25 December 2006) was a Norwegian actress. She was known to the Norwegian audience primarily for her roles in the films Jentespranget (1973) and the sit-com Hjemme hos oss (1980). For her role in Jentespranget, she won the award for Best Actress at the 8th Moscow International Film Festival.Vardund debuted on stage in 1947 at the Chat Noir, and on the screen five years later with the movie Andrine og Kjell. In 1971 she toured in Japan with Nationaltheatret (the National Theatre) as Nora in A Doll's House. She acted in a number of movies, and worked at Nationaltheatret from 1958 to 1993.

Mona Hofland (24 November 1929 – 11 February 2010) was a Norwegian theatre and television actress.

Elsa Lystad (9 July 1930 – 26 December 2023) was a Norwegian film and stage actress. She was a recipient of the Leonard Statuette, the King's Medal of Merit, the Amanda Honorary Award, and Gullruten.

Aud Schønemann (13 November 1922 – 30 October 2006) was a Norwegian actress, regarded by many as the leading comedienne of her generation in Norway.
She was born in Østre Aker, and was a daughter of actor August Schønemann and dancer Dagmar Kristensen.She started her acting career in 1945, and is probably best known for her role as Valborg Jensen in the Olsenbanden movies, as Marve Fleksnes' mother on the long-running Norwegian television comedy Fleksnes Fataliteter and as the janitor's wife in the comedy film Skulle det dukke opp flere lik er det bare å ringe (based on the play BusyBody by Jack Popplewell).
In 1993, she was knighted in the Royal Norwegian Order of St Olav.
Her appearance in over 50 movies is supposedly a Norwegian record.

Eva Wenche Steenfeldt Stang (5 December 1917 – 28 March 2011), better known as Wenche Foss (Norwegian: [ˈvɛ̂ŋkə ˈfɔsː]), was a leading Norwegian actress of stage, screen and television.
