Medalists at the 1936 Summer Olympics

Hans Mathiesen Lunding (25 February 1899 – 5 April 1984) was a Danish officer, eventing rider, resistance fighter and director of military intelligence in Denmark.

Vaadjuv Dag Nyqvist (October 5, 1902 – 9 May 1961) was a Norwegian sailor who competed in the 1936 Summer Olympics.
In 1936 he won the silver medal as crew member of the Norwegian boat Lully II in the 6 metre class event.

Karsten Magnus Konow (16 February 1918 – 10 July 1945 in Stavanger) was a Norwegian sailor who competed in the 1936 Summer Olympics.
In 1936 he won the silver medal as crew member of the Norwegian boat Lully II in the 6 metre class event. His father Magnus Konow was captain.

Fredrik Meyer (13 February 1916 – 16 January 1989) was a Norwegian sailor who competed in the 1936 Summer Olympics, and an officer in the Royal Norwegian Air Force.
In 1936 he won the silver medal as crew member of the Norwegian boat Lully II in the 6 metre class event.
During World War II he escaped to Little Norway in Canada, where he received flight training. He served for the rest of the war as a pilot with the Norwegian 330 Squadron.
After the war, he served as aide-de-camp to King Haakon VII from 1952 to 1954. From 1955 onwards he was a secretary in the Order of St. Olav and from 1971 to 1978 head of the order's secretariat.
Meyer is the author of Hærens og Marinens flyvåpen 1912-1945, published in 1973, and he covered sailing for Aftenposten for many years.

Pierre Georget (9 August 1917 – 1 August 1964) was a French cyclist. He won the silver medal in 1000m time trial and a bronze Medal in Men's Tandem at the 1936 Summer Olympics.

Werner Julius March (17 January 1894 – 11 January 1976) was a German architect, son of Otto March (1845–1913), and brother of Walter March, both also well-known German architects. Werner March designed Germany's 1936 Olympic stadium. Werner March was born in Charlottenburg and died in Berlin.

Jadwiga Wajs-Marcinkiewicz (30 January 1912 in Pabianice, Russian Empire – 1 February 1990) was a Polish athlete who mainly competed in the discus throw.

Henry "Tippen" Johansen (21 July 1904 – 29 May 1988) was a Norwegian footballer who played as a goalkeeper for Vålerenga. He later managed the club.

Willy Røgeberg (1 December 1905 – 15 December 1969) was a Norwegian rifle shooter who competed before and after World War II. He won two Olympic medals. He won his first olympic medal in 50 m Rifle, prone at the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin. After the war he won a bronze medal at the 1948 Summer Olympics in London, this time in 300 m Rifle, Three positions. He also won several medals in the ISSF World Shooting Championships.After his Olympic medal in 1936 he started his own guns and sporting equipment business in Oslo.
During the Second World War German occupation of Norway, Røgeberg was arrested by the Germans on 29 May 1942 on weapons related charges. He spent the period 29 May – 5 October 1942 incarcerated at Møllergata 19, then 5 October 1942 to 22 December 1943 as prisoner no. 4776 at Grini concentration camp.

Gérard Blitz (1 August 1901 – 8 March 1979) was a Belgian Olympic swimmer and water polo player who competed at the 1920, 1924, 1928 and 1936 Olympics. He was the younger brother of Maurice Blitz, also a water polo player, and uncle of Gérard Blitz who founded Club Med in 1950.
