He is of Polish descent.

Gérard Jaquet (12 January 1916 – 13 April 2013) was a French politician.Jaquet was born in Malakoff. He represented the French Section of the Workers' International (SFIO) in the Constituent Assembly elected in 1945, in the Constituent Assembly elected in 1946 and in the National Assembly from 1946 to 1958. He was Minister of Overseas France from 1957 to 1958.

He represented the Pas-de-Calais department between 1993 and 2017, and was a member of the Socialiste, radical, citoyen et divers gauche group. He did not run for a sixth term in 2017. Ludovic Pajot from the National Front succeeded him.

Jean_Glavany

Jean Glavany (born 14 May 1949 in Sceaux, Hauts-de-Seine) is a French politician of the Socialist Party (PS) and former Minister.From 1981 to 1988, Glavany was head of cabinet of President François Mitterrand (PS). He was then Minister of Agriculture (1998–2002) in the Plural Left government of Lionel Jospin. Among other actions, he prohibited the Gaucho pesticide, alleged of being related to observations concerning the sudden decrease in bee population.
Glavany was elected deputy of Hautes-Pyrénées in 2002, and re-elected in 2007. He was part of the Socialiste, radical, citoyen et divers gauche parliamentary group in the National Assembly. Glavany is also president of the Community of Agglomeration of Tarbes.
Ahead of the Socialist Party's 2017 primaries, Glavany endorsed Manuel Valls as the party's candidate for the presidential election later that year.

Alain Le Vern (born 8 May 1948) is a French politician. He served as a member of the French Senate and the president of the Upper Normandy region between 1998 and 2013. He is also the inaugural President of the transnational Arc Manche Assembly.
He was elected president of Upper Normandy in 1998 and Senator representing the Seine-Maritime department in 2007. He became the first President of the Arc Manche Assembly, elected in 2005.
