Cédric Mathy (born 2 February 1970) is a Belgian former cyclist. He competed for Belgium in the 1992 Summer Olympics held in Barcelona, Spain in the points race event where he won the bronze medal.

Lucien Leon Hauman-Merck (8 July 1880, in Ixelles – 16 September 1965, in Brussels) was a Belgian botanist, who studied and collected plants in South America and Africa.
He received his education in Gembloux, and afterwards relocated to Argentina, where he obtained a position in the department of agronomy and veterinary medicine at the University of Buenos Aires. From 1904 to 1925 he taught classes in botany, plant pathology and agricultural microbiology at the university. In 1910 he laid the foundations for its botanical garden.In Argentina he conducted important phytogeographical research, and he also performed plant collection duties that involved excursions to Paraguay, Chile and Uruguay. In 1927 he returned to Europe, where from 1928 to 1949, he served as a professor of botany at the Free University of Brussels. During this time period, he studied African flora, about which, he collected numerous plants in the Belgian Congo. In 1949 he returned to Argentina as an honorary professor at the University of Buenos Aires. The "Jardín Botánico Lucien Hauman" at the university is named in his honor.The genera Haumania (J.Léonard, 1949) and Haumaniastrum (P.A.Duvign. et Plancke, 1959) commemorate his name, as do species with the epithet of haumanii.

Rosa Bouglione (née Van Been; 21 December 1910 – 26 August 2018) was a French circus performer and the matriarch of the Bouglione circus family.

Rachel Baes (1 August 1912 – 8 June 1983) was a Belgian surrealist painter. The growth of the women's movement in the late 20th century led to renewed interest in female artists and brought greater appreciation of their work. In 2002 the Royal Museum of Fine Arts Antwerp dedicated an exhibition to Baes and the female French-Belgian surrealist painter Jane Graverol.

André Cauvin (French: [kovɛ̃]; 12 February 1907 – 2 April 2004) was a Belgian documentary film director. He directed five films between 1939 and 1955. His 1952 film Bongolo was entered into the 1953 Cannes Film Festival.

Colette Braeckman is a Belgian journalist, born in Ixelles on April 20, 1946. She is a member of the editorial board of the Belgian French-language newspaper Le Soir, where she directs news coverage of Africa, particularly Central Africa. She has also been published in reviews and magazines, notably Le Monde diplomatique in both its French and English editions.
Colette Braeckman's articles on the Rwandan genocide were critical towards the French government. For their part, there have been critics of Braeckman's work, particularly public personalities within France who defend other arguments more favourable to the French government, but which have nonetheless been challenged; Canadian essayist Robin Philpot, journalists Pierre Péan and Charles Onana, by historian Bernard Lugan, by French Colonel Jacques Hogard and by Joseph Ngarambe, a survivor of the Rwandan genocide, an expert consultant for the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda, in an interview given to M. Péan and reported in his book.Many of Braeckman's works have been reprinted by the organization Survie, which disseminates information about conflict in the former colonies of France in Africa.

Fernand Gravey (25 December 1905 in Ixelles (Belgium) – 2 November 1970 in Paris, France), also known as Fernand Gravet in the United States, was a Belgian-born French actor.

Michel Blaton (born 23 April 1967) is a Belgian former equestrian. He competed in two events at the 1996 Summer Olympics.
