Wim Mertens (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈʋɪˈmɛrtə(n)s]; born 14 May 1953) is a Flemish Belgian composer, countertenor vocalist, pianist, guitarist, and musicologist.

Dave Chavarri is a Peruvian American musician, and is the founder, producer, manager, and drummer for the band Ill Niño, and Terror Universal. He is also the former drummer for bands Soulfly, Pro-Pain, M.O.D., Merauder and Lȧȧz Rockit, and Gothic Slam. Chavarri is also the owner of entertainment company C.I.A Management, whose roster includes Ill Niño, Terror Universal, and others.

Hernán Jesús Garrido Lecca Montañez (born May 18, 1960) is a Peruvian economist, writer, producer, inventor and politician. A popular children's literature author in Peru, he is most recognized by his work Pirates in Callao, which was adapted into the first CGI motion picture in Peruvian cinematography. At political level, he is a member of the Peruvian Aprista Party, serving in Alan García's second administration as cabinet minister, from 2006 to 2008.Garrido Lecca graduated from the University of the Pacific with a major in economics. Subsequently, he attended Harvard Kennedy School and Massachusetts Institute of Technology, obtaining a Master's in Public Administration and a Master's of Science in Technology and Policy, respectively. He attained a PhD in Applied Economics at the University of Seville. His interest in literature led him to complete the master's program in Peruvian and Latin American Literature at the National University of San Marcos. He holds the rank of Major of the Peruvian Army (Reserve), and is a Private Pilot.After working in radio and television journalism in different media for more during the 1990s and publishing books in the fields of economics, science and technology, and consumer advocacy, Garrido Lecca entered politics by running for the Peruvian Congress at the 2001 general election with Union for Peru. Although not elected, he was recruited in the Peruvian Aprista Party as an advisor to former president Alan García. He was subsequently named the party's campaign manager for the 2006 general election.
At the start of the second presidency of Alan García in July 2006, Garrido Lecca was appointed Minister of Housing, Construction and Sanitation. In December 2007, he was rotated in the cabinet as Minister of Health. He resigned on October 14, 2008, amid the 2008 oil scandal, which led Alan García to sack his entire cabinet. Garrido Lecca was signaled as part of the scheme leading to the scandal, and currently remains under investigation alongside other former members of the administration.

Alma Vessells John (September 27, 1906 – April 8, 1986) was an American nurse, newsletter writer, radio and television personality, and civil rights activist. Born in Philadelphia in 1906, she moved to New York to take nursing classes after graduating from high school. She completed her nursing training at Harlem Hospital School of Nursing in 1929 and worked for two years as a nurse before being promoted to the director of the educational and recreational programs at Harlem Hospital. After being fired for trying to unionize nurses in 1938, she became the director of the Upper Manhattan YWCA School for Practical Nurses, the first African American to serve as director of a school of nursing in the state of New York. (Adah Belle Thoms had served as acting director of Lincoln School for Nurses between 1906 and 1923). In 1944, John became a lecturer and consultant with the National Nursing Council for War Service, serving until the war ended, and was the last director of the National Association of Colored Graduate Nurses from 1946 until it dissolved in 1951. Her position at both organizations was to expand nursing opportunities for black women and integrate black nurses throughout the nation into the health care system.
In 1949, John wrote a script titled Brown Women in White for production on WNBC, which led to a second career in radio and television. In 1952, she presented The Homemaker's Club on station WWRL in New York. The following year, she became the first black radio personality to be invited as a member of the New York chapter of the Association of Women in Radio and Television. She campaigned successfully for the organization meetings to be held in unsegregated facilities. In 1957, she received the McCall's Golden Mike Award for her show What's Right with Teenagers and in 1959 she became the director of women's programming at WWRL. Over her 25-year career at the radio station, she wrote and produced numerous programs giving household tips, health care advice, and providing community service information. In 1970, John began appearing on television shows at WPIX-TV. She interviewed prominent black figures on her shows Black Pride and Positively Black. John worked up to her death in 1986 and is remembered mainly for her pioneering role in radio.

Other collaborations with female filmmakers such as Karyn Kusama ("XX"), Sarah Adina Smith ("Buster's Mal Heart"), and Bethany Brooke Anderson "Burning Kentucky") have found critical and commercial success around the world.
