Captain Emilio Carranza Rodríguez (December 9, 1905 – July 12, 1928), was a noted Mexican aviator and national hero, nicknamed the "Lindbergh of Mexico". He was killed on the return part of a historic goodwill flight from Mexico City to the United States. He crashed in New Jersey shortly after take-off from New York.

Nicole Marie Jeanne Andrieu (21 October 1931 – 25 June 2016), better known as Nicole Courcel, was a French actress who achieved popularity through the 1950s and 1960s, though she is mostly unknown outside of France. Born in Saint-Cloud, in the western suburbs of Paris, she appeared in more than 40 films between 1947 and 1979. After working as an extra in a few films, she won a major role in Rendez-vous de juillet (1949), with Brigitte Auber. In 1970 she turned to television, appearing in different television films and miniseries, in which she continued to work until 2004. Courcel is best known for her role in Serge Bourguignon's Sundays and Cybele (1962). She had notable parts in: La Marie du port (1950, opposite Jean Gabin), Sacha Guitry's Royal Affairs in Versailles (1954), and La Sorcière (1956, opposite Marina Vlady).

Luca Calvani (born 7 August 1974) is an Italian actor.Calvani was born in Prato, Tuscany, Italy. Luca was a model during his teen years, working with top names in the world of fashion, including Giorgio Armani. Spent his twenties in New York City, where he first studied acting with Ron Stetson then with Susan Batson. Among his American TV roles, the HBO series Sex and the City (2001) where he starred opposite Alan Cumming and Sarah Jessica Parker, and as the villain Dante Grimaldi on CBS TV's daytime drama As the World Turns. In Europe, he worked in theatre, TV and film, among them Ferzan Özpetek's award-winning His Secret Life a.k.a. Le Fate Ignoranti. Calvani is trilingual, he speaks French and English in addition to his native Italian. In 2007 he shot Il Commissario Manara directed by Davide Marengo for the Italian network Raiuno. He co-starred as Enzo Calvini opposite Clive Owen in Tom Tykwer's movie The International and the upcoming Italian TV series Questo è Amore directed by Riccardo Milani opposite Stefania Rocca.

Antoine_Émile_Henry_Labeyrie

Antoine Émile Henry Labeyrie (born 12 May 1943) is a French astronomer, who held the Observational astrophysics chair at the Collège de France between 1991 and 2014, where he is currently professor emeritus. He is working with the Hypertelescope Lise association, which aims to develop an extremely large astronomical interferometer with spherical geometry that might theoretically show features on Earth-like worlds around other suns, as its president. He is a member of the French Academy of Sciences in the Sciences of the Universe (sciences de l'univers) section. Between 1995 and 1999 he was director of the Haute-Provence Observatory.
Labeyrie graduated from the "grande école" SupOptique (École supérieure d'optique). He invented speckle interferometry, and works with astronomical interferometers. Labeyrie concentrated particularly on the use of "diluted optics" beam combination or "densified pupils" of a similar type but larger scale than those Michelson used for measuring the diameters of stars in the 1920s, in contrast to other astronomical interferometer researchers who generally switched to pupil-plane beam combination in the 1980s and 1990s.
The main-belt asteroid 8788 Labeyrie (1978 VP2) is named in honor of Antoine Émile Henry Labeyrie and Catherine Labeyrie. In 2000, he was awarded The Benjamin Franklin Medal.

Yves Parlier (born 14 November 1960) is a French sailor. He is very well known in the offshore sailing world and generally in France, where he was elected France's top sports personality in 2002.
Nicknamed "The extra-terrestrial" for his amazing exploits and capabilities, Parlier currently holds two offshore 24-hour distance sailing records, set in April and May 2006.
