Mary Virginia Orozco was California’s first Latina female lawyer. She was also the first Latina to graduate from Loyola Law School.
She was born on September 24, 1928, in Whittier, California. Her parents were adamant that their children received a proper education. As an example, since Orozco’s parents were not property owners, they asked their landlord to obtain library cards for their children from the Whittier Public Library.
Orozco completed her undergraduate studies in psychology and sociology at the California State University, Los Angeles before attending Loyola Law School. Orozco worked full-time to support her immediate family while attending.
She was admitted to the State Bar of California in 1962 as the state’s first Latina lawyer. With the Spanish-speaking community as her major focus, Orozco set out to establish a legal practice that specialized in family, civil and criminal law. She eventually established the law firm Orozco & Orozco with her twin brother Hector. Orozco faced both racial and sex discrimination while practicing in the California courtrooms. In 1962, Orozco was a founder of the Mexican American Bar Association (MABA) in Los Angeles, and was a founding member for the Latina Lawyers Bar Association. She retired from practicing law in 1987.
Orozco died on June 5, 2019.

Lilia del Valle (30 April 1928, in Mexico City – 7 January 2013, in Santo Domingo) was a Mexican actress, a star in the Golden Age of Mexican cinema. She appeared in films such as Las tres alegres comadres (1952) and Las interesadas (1952), together with Amalia Aguilar and Lilia Prado, Mis tres viudas alegres (1953) and Las cariñosas (1953) with Silvia Pinal, Nadie muere dos veces (1953), with Luis Aguilar and Abel Salazar, and Esposas infieles (1956).

Júlio Delamare (July 1, 1928 – July 11, 1973) was a Brazilian sports journalist who worked as a journalist and sports commentator for the newspaper O Globo for more than ten years and for the television network Rede Globo, where he was the first director of the sports department.He died on Varig Flight 820, in France. The plane caught on fire, causing it to crash. The Júlio Delamare Aquatics Centre, situated in Rio de Janeiro, was named after him, five years after the accident that caused his death.

M. Rainer Lepsius (8 May 1928 – 2 October 2014) was a German sociologist. A particular interest was in the work of Max Weber: he was prominent among the co-compilers of the (eventually) 47 volume edition of the Complete Works of Weber.

Leticia Lilia Amezcua Prado (30 March 1928 – 22 May 2006), known as Lilia Prado, was a Mexican actress and dancer. Noted for her beauty and on-screen sensuality, she was a famous star and sex symbol of the Golden Age of Mexican cinema.
Prado began her career in 1947 as an extra in films, and received her first leading role in Confidencias de un ruletero (1949). She was directed by Spanish filmmaker Luis Buñuel in Subida al cielo (1952), Abismos de pasión (1954), and La ilusión viaja en tranvía (1954). Her performance in Talpa (1956) earned her a nomination for the Ariel Award for Best Actress. She was Cantinflas' leading lady in the popular comedy El analfabeto (1961).
In 1999, Prado received the Golden Ariel for her career, and the following year she was honored by the Cineteca Nacional.

Donald C. Rickard (2 March 1928 – 30 March 2016) was an American diplomat for the State Department and spy for the Central Intelligence Agency. Shortly before his death, Rickard claimed to have provided the information that led to the arrest of Nelson Mandela in 1962 due to allegations of communist influence under Mandela while he was working as a vice-consul in Durban, South Africa.

Jacobo Zabludovsky Kraveski (May 24, 1928 – July 2, 2015) was a Mexican journalist. He was the first anchorman in Mexican television and his TV news program, 24 Horas (24 Hours) was for decades regarded as the most important in the country.

Ervin Wilson (June 11, 1928 – December 8, 2016) was a Mexican/American (dual citizen) music theorist.

Robert K. Corbin (born November 17, 1928) is an American lawyer and politician from the state of Arizona who formerly served as Attorney General of Arizona.
He later served as president of the National Rifle Association of America from 1992 until 1993.
