Alfonso Montemayor Crespo (28 April 1922 – 23 November 2012) was a Mexican football defender who played for Mexico in the 1950 FIFA World Cup. He also played for Club León.

Edgardo Melhem Salinas (born 14 August 1969) is a Mexican politician from the Institutional Revolutionary Party. He currently serves as a deputy in the LXIII Legislature of the Mexican Congress representing the Third Federal Electoral District of Tamaulipas, centered on Río Bravo.

Blanca Margarita Magrassi Scagno (November 29, 1923 – October 9, 2015) was a Mexican women's rights activist, civil and pro-democracy activist, politician and leading figure within the National Action Party (PAN). Magrassi Scagno, the wife and political partner of Luis H. Álvarez, the former President of the National Action Party, served as a member of PAN's national executive committee from 1988 to 1990. She was considered a moral authority within PAN and Mexican politics.

Mercedes del Carmen Guillén Vicente (born 5 June 1954) is a Mexican politician from the Institutional Revolutionary Party. From 2009 to 2012 she served as Deputy of the LXI Legislature of the Mexican Congress representing Tamaulipas. She is the sister of Rafael Sebastián Guillén Vicente, whom the government alleges is the real identity of Subcomandante Marcos, the leader of the EZLN Zapatista guerrilla in Chiapas.

Rodrigo González, (25 December 1950 – 19 September 1985), better known as Rockdrigo or El profeta del nopal ("The Nopal Prophet"), was a Mexican singer-songwriter. He died at age 35 with his girlfriend, Francoise Bardinet, when the apartment building in which he was living collapsed in the Mexico City earthquake of 19 September 1985. His early death made him a legend in Mexican rock.

Julio Enrique Gómez González (born 13 August 1994), also known as "La Momia", is a Mexican former professional footballer who played as a winger.

José Alejandro Gómez Monteverde (born 13 July 1977) is a Mexican film director. His first film, Bella, took top prize at the 2006 Toronto International Film Festival by winning the "People's Choice Award". He also directed the film Sound of Freedom.
In 2007, Monteverde received the US Citizenship and Immigration Services' "Outstanding American by Choice" Award, which recognizes the achievements of naturalized U.S. citizens.

Laura Elizondo Erhard (born 28 August 1983 in Tampico) is a Mexican beauty pageant titleholder who represented her country at Miss Universe 2005.

Ricardo Celis Flores (born August 24, 1962, in Tampico, Tamaulipas, Mexico) is a Mexican-American Spanish-language sportscaster.He was the host and commentator of all the Los Angeles Lakers Spanish TV shows for Time Warner Cable Deportes, and he is also the Spanish TV voice of Chivas USA, Los Angeles Sparks and LA Galaxy in-studio anchor.
During his career in broadcasting, Celis has covered a number of premiere events, including the Super Bowl, World Series, NBA Finals, the Olympics, Copa America, Pan American Games and World Boxing Bouts.
