Mary Elizabeth Tidball (née Peters; October 15, 1929 – February 3, 2014) was an American physiologist. She was an advocate for women in academia and STEM and a supporter of women's colleges. Tidball was a longtime faculty member at George Washington University School of Medicine & Health Sciences (GW) where she became the institution's first woman appointed professor of physiology. Her research in the 1960s on the career outcomes of graduates from women's colleges versus those from coeducational institutions sparked discussions that continued for decades. Tidball was the first female president of the Cathedral Choral Society where she sang for almost fifty years.

Charles Coffin Sims (April 14, 1937 – October 23, 2017) was an American mathematician best known for his work in group theory. Together with Donald G. Higman he discovered the Higman–Sims group, one of the sporadic groups. The permutation group software developed by Sims also led to the proof of existence of the Lyons group (also known as the Lyons–Sims group) and the O'Nan group (also known as the O'Nan–Sims group).
Sims was born and raised in Elkhart, Indiana, and received his B.S. from the University of Michigan. He did his graduate studies at Harvard University, where he was a student of John G. Thompson and received his Ph.D. degree in 1963. In his thesis, he enumerated p-groups, giving sharp asymptotic upper and lower bounds. Sims is one of the founders of computational group theory and is the eponym of the Schreier–Sims algorithm. He was a faculty member at the Department of Mathematics at Rutgers University from 1965 to 2007. During that period he served, in particular, as Department Chair (1982–84) and Associate Provost for Computer Planning (1984–87). Sims retired from Rutgers in 2007 and moved to St. Petersburg, Florida.In 2012, he became a fellow of the American Mathematical Society.

Carl Mark Pearcy, Jr. (born August 25, 1935) is an American mathematician whose research has been concentrated on operator theory and operator algebras. He has coauthored several books, including "Introduction to Operator Theory I", Introduction to Analysis", and "Measure and integration", all published by Springer and coauthored by Arlen Brown (and Hari Bercovici in the case of Measure and integration). Pearcy had 31 Ph. D. students at Michigan and TAMU
, several of whom are outstanding mathematicians. Pearcy's bibliography contains more than 150 papers, and his research has concerned the invariant subspace problem and the theory of dual algebras.

Joe D. Montgomery (January 28, 1918 – October 5, 2013) was an American politician, educator, and businessman.
Born in Floydada, Texas, he served in the United States Army Air Forces during World War II. He graduated from Colorado State University. Montgomery went to San Francisco, California and then moved to Anchorage, Alaska where he was an educator, principal, and superintendent of the Anchorage Public Schools. He also owned an automobile agency. He served two terms as a Republican in the Alaska House of Representatives from 1979 to 1983. He died in Anchorage, Alaska.

William Maurice "Doc" Ewing (May 12, 1906 – May 4, 1974) was an American geophysicist and oceanographer.Ewing has been described as a pioneering geophysicist who worked on the research of seismic reflection and refraction in ocean basins, ocean bottom photography, submarine sound transmission (including the SOFAR channel), deep sea core samples of the ocean bottom, theory and observation of earthquake surface waves, fluidity of the Earth's core, generation and propagation of microseisms, submarine explosion seismology, marine gravity surveys, bathymetry and sedimentation, natural radioactivity of ocean waters and sediments, study of abyssal plains and submarine canyons.

Luis Miguel Castilla Rubio is a Peruvian economist and politician. He was the Minister of Economy and Finance of Peru, serving under President Ollanta Humala.Educated in North America, and bilingual in Spanish and English, Miguel Castilla holds a B.A. with Honors in Economics and Business Administration from the McGill University in Montreal, Canada, a Master and a Ph.D. in Economics from the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland, and has taken a course in the Global Crisis and Financial Reform Program at Harvard University. He has held the positions of consultant to the World Bank vice president for North Africa and the Middle East, adviser to the executive chair of the Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean (CAF), and director of the Bank of the Nation of Peru. Castilla is also a member of the Inter-American Dialogue. He has also been a lecturer at the Johns Hopkins University and the University of the Pacific in Lima.In the administration of President Alan García, Castilla has served as deputy minister of Finance under minister Mercedes Aráoz from January 2010 to July 2011. On 28 July 2011, newly elected President Ollanta Humala appointed him as Minister of Economy and Finance. The choice of Castilla – who is characterised as an orthodox pro-market economist – was estimated as a sign for Humala's intention to pursue a reasonable and moderate economic policy and to remove the fears of a radical shift to the left. On September 14, 2014, he resigned after spending three years in it, leaving economist Alonso Segura as his successor.
On January 6, 2015, he was appointed as Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Peru to the United States. He held the position until July 2016.
In 2017, he was appointed as Manager of the Office of Strategic Planning and Development Effectiveness of the Inter-American Development Bank based in Washington, D.C.

Julio Armando Guzmán Cáceres (born 31 July 1970) is a Peruvian economist, politician, and leader of the Purple Party who ran for President in the 2021 general elections getting just over 2% of valid votes. He was formerly the leader of the All for Peru political party, running for president for the party in the 2016 general elections, but was disqualified, due to the irregularities of the nomination process.

María Antonieta Alva Luperdi (born 7 March 1985) is Peruvian public administrator who served as Minister of Economy and Finance from October 2019 to November 2020. Alva previously served at various departments in the Peruvian government, mainly the Ministry of Economy and Finance and the Ministry of Education.
