Marguerite Carré (née Giraud, also known as Marguerite Giraud-Carré) (16 August 1880 – 26 November 1947) was a French soprano who created numerous roles at the Paris Opéra-Comique in the course of her career.
She was born in Cabourg, France, the daughter of French baritone Auguste Louis Giraud and Jenny Gabrielle Vaillant of Paris (9 May 1857 – 1903). Auguste Giraud was the director of the Graslin Theater in Nantes where Carré made her stage debut in 1899 as Mimì in Puccini's La bohème. Descriptions of her performance were favorable. "She was very musical, gifted with a charming voice and intelligent actress."She married Albert Carré, the director of the Opéra-Comique in 1902 and became known by her married name, Marguerite Carré. Their daughter Jenny Carré (1902–1945) would eventually take up a career in theater costume design. The couple divorced in 1924, but remarried in 1929.In Paris, Carré was hailed as a "celebrated soprano" who created roles in 15 works at the Opéra-Comique. She was the first in Paris to perform Cio-Cio-San, the leading role in Puccini's Madama Butterfly. In addition, she earned acclaim for her work in the title role of Massenet's opera Manon and as Mélisande in Pelléas and Mélisande, the only opera by Debussy.When American soprano Rosa Ponselle decided to add the role of Carmen to her repertoire, she studied with the Carré's for two months in 1935 before her Metropolitan Opera performance.
Carré died in 1947 at the age of 67 in Paris and her tomb can be found at the Père Lachaise Cemetery in Paris (89th division).

Georgette "Géori" Boué (16 October 1918 – 5 January 2017) was a French soprano, particularly associated with the French repertory, especially Marguérite, Thais and Salomé (Massenet). She was born in Toulouse. Following her career in France and other European centres, she was a teacher and "perceptive observer of the French operatic scene".

Yvonne Printemps (French: [ivɔn pʁɛ̃tɑ̃]; born Yvonne Wigniolle; 25 July 1894 – 19 January 1977) was a French singer and actress who achieved stardom on stage and screen in France and internationally.
Printemps went on the stage in Paris at the age of 12, and at 21 she was singled out by the actor, director and playwright Sacha Guitry as a leading lady. In 1919 they were married, and worked closely together until 1932, when they divorced. Printemps never remarried, but had a personal and professional partnership with the actor Pierre Fresnay which lasted until his death in 1975.
As a performer, Printemps was famed for the quality of her singing voice and for her personal charm. Among those who composed for her were André Messager, Reynaldo Hahn, Noël Coward and Francis Poulenc. Her voice could have led her to an operatic career, but guided by Guitry she concentrated on operette and other types of musical show, along with non-musical plays and films. In addition to her many successes in Paris she appeared to great acclaim in the West End of London, and on Broadway in New York.

Eugénie "Ninon" Vallin (8 September 1886 – 22 November 1961) was a French lyric soprano who achieved considerable popularity in opera, operetta and classical song recitals during an international career that lasted for more than four decades.
