José María Cantú Garza (13 December 1938 – 12 November 2007) was a Mexican genetics researcher.
Cantú was born in Monterrey, Nuevo León in 1938 and moved to Reynosa, Tamaulipas. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in Medicine from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM, 1965) and received a doctorate degree in Human Genetics from the University of Paris I.
He worked as a professor in the University of Guadalajara and served as head of the Genetics Division of the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS). He published about 400 papers and 80 book chapters.

Boanerges de Souza Massa (born January 7, 1938 – disappeared June 21, 1972) was a Brazilian physician who joined the resistance against the military dictatorship. He was the field surgeon of the National Liberation Action (Portuguese: Ação Libertadora Nacional, ALN) founded by Carlos Marighella. After the police liquidated Marighella, he went to Cuba to take guerilla courses and co-founded the People's Liberation Movement (Portuguese: Movimento de Libertação Popular Brasileiro, MOLIPO). The army captured him in 1971 in Pindorama and he disappeared shortly thereafter. 25 years later, the Brazilian government officially acknowledged its responsibility.

He was also the co-founder of the South Bear School (1970–present) by which he imparted to students a tradition of functional studio pottery. In the late 1970s, he founded the South Bear Press.

Carroll Edward "Eddie" Cole (May 9, 1938 – December 6, 1985) was an American serial killer who was executed in Nevada in 1985 for killing two women by strangulation. He was also convicted of murdering three other women in Texas and is believed to have murdered up to thirty other people between 1947 and 1980.

Robert Frank Knoop ( kuh-NOP; born October 18, 1938) is an American former Major League Baseball second baseman and coach. In his nine-year MLB career, he appeared in 1,153 games as a member of the Los Angeles / California Angels (1964–69), Chicago White Sox (1969–70) and Kansas City Royals (1971–72). He threw and batted right-handed, stood 6 feet 1 inch (1.85 m) tall and weighed 170 pounds (77 kg).

John Braheny (December 9, 1938 – January 19, 2013) was an American author and singer-songwriter. He released a solo album in 1968, Some Kind of Change, on the Pete label. He was born in 1938 in Iowa. He also wrote songs for others, including "December Dream" in 1967, which was recorded by The Stone Poneys who included lead vocalist Linda Ronstadt. It was released on the band's Evergreen - Volume Two album that year.
He died on January 19, 2013, aged 74.

Dick Leslie Dearden (June 3, 1938 – November 2, 2019) was an American politician who was the Iowa State Senator from the 34th District. A Democrat, he served in the Iowa Senate from 1995 to 2017 representing the Northeast part of Des Moines and Pleasant Hill, Iowa.
