Antonio_Galves

Jefferson Antonio Galves (18 June 1947 – 5 September 2023) was a Brazilian mathematician, professor of the Institute of Mathematics and Statistics of the University of São Paulo (USP) and member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences. His field of studies was related to statistical models, in particular models that have stochasticity and variable range of memory. Galves was also the leader of NeuroMat, a research center established in 2013 at USP that is dedicated to integrating mathematical modeling and theoretical neuroscience.

Thor Furulund (né Thore Furulund; 12 June 1943 – 16 January 2016) was a Norwegian painter.
He was born in Oslo and resided in Bærum.Furulund was educated at Beckman Skola in Stockholm, and is represented with his art works at Riksgalleriet and at the Royal Palace in Oslo.His work has been purchased, among other places, by the National Gallery in Norway, the Bærum municipality and the Royal Palace in Norway.

Bjarne_Arentz

Bjarne Arentz (2 December 1928 – 19 February 2017) was a Norwegian alpine skier. He was born in Oslo on 2 December 1928. Arentz participated at the 1948 Winter Olympics in Saint Moritz, where he competed in downhill, slalom and alpine combined. He became Norwegian champion in alpine combined in 1946. Arentz died in Oslo on 19 February 2017, at the age of 88.

María_Elena_Moyano

María Elena Moyano Delgado (29 November 1958 – 15 February 1992) was an Afro-Peruvian community organizer and feminist who was assassinated by the Shining Path. She grew up in poverty in the Villa El Salvador pueblo joven, then became involved in local activism. She was twice president of FEPOMUVES (the Popular Federation of Women of Villa El Salvador) and at the time of her death was deputy mayor. Her funeral was attended by 300,000 people and resulted in a downturn in support for the Shining Path. She received the Peruvian Order of Merit posthumously.

Katherine Horny (born 11 November 1969) is a former volleyball player from Peru who played for the Peruvian women's national volleyball team. She won a silver medal at the 1988 Seoul Summer Olympics. She was a middle blocker.

Ella_Kay

Ella Kay (16 December 1895 – 3 February 1988) was a Berlin city politician (SPD) with a particular interest in workers' welfare and youth matters. During the Hitler years she became a resistance activist: she focused on looking after victims of government persecution. Despite being subject to surveillance and frequent visits from the security services, she avoided arrest.After 1945 she found herself in the Soviet occupation zone where, during 1946, she was elected mayor of the district of Berlin-Prenzlauer Berg. She was removed from office in December 1947 by the military administrators. After 1948 the differences implicit in the administrative division of Berlin into four separately controlled military occupation zones began to find increasingly intrusive resonances in administrative and physical differences, especially as between the eastern part of the city, controlled by the Soviets, and the three other sectors of the city, which by this time were coming to be known collectively as West Berlin. In or before 1949 Ella Kay relocated to West Berlin, where, between 1955 and 1962, she served as Senator for Youth and Sport.

Giulio_Costanzi

Giulio Cesare Costanzi (25 April 1875 in Contigliano, Italy – 28 August 1965 in Rome, Italy), was an officer of the ITAF Engineers Corps and a pioneer of space studies in Italy. In 1914, he wrote a paper on space navigation that is regarded as the first Italian contribution to space flights on record.

Antonius Wilhelmus Verlegh (29 March 1896 – 12 March 1960), known as Antoon Verlegh and Rat Verlegh was a Dutch football player and administrator who is best known for his association with NAC Breda, whose Rat Verlegh Stadion is named in his honour. Verlegh was a player, coach, editor, secretary, member of the board, vice chairman and chairman of honour at NAC Breda. He also had several important positions at the KNVB and he was considered to be one of the football icons in The Netherlands until the 1950s.
