Else Christophersen (11 February 1915 – 3 July 1968) was a Norwegian equestrian. She was born in Kristiania. She competed in equestrian at the 1956 Summer Olympics in Stockholm, where she placed 13th in individual mixed dressage, and seventh in the team competition (along with Anne-Lise Kielland and Bodil Russ).
Guy Lefrant (1923–1993) was a French equestrian. He won a silver medal in individual eventing at the 1952 Summer Olympics in Helsinki. He won a bronze medal in team eventing at the 1960 Summer Olympics in Rome, together with Jack le Goff and Jéhan Le Roy.
Dominique Maximilien Gardères (born 22 October 1856 in Biarritz, date of death unknown) was a French horse rider who competed in the 1900 Olympic Games. In Paris he tied to the gold medal in the high jump event with Gian Giorgio Trissino.
Marie Camille Armand de La Forgue de Bellegarde (29 March 1841 – 23 October 1905) was a French military officer and horse rider and instructor.
La Forgue de Bellegarde joined the French Army in 1860, enrolling at the École spéciale militaire de Saint-Cyr. Upon graduation, he was commissioned as a junior officer in the 2nd Chasseurs Regiment, becoming a lieutenant in 1968. Following the Franco-Prussian War, during which he was captured and taken prisoner, he became an instructor at Saint-Cyr, where he rose to the rank of général de brigade. He retired in 1904.Among his many honours, La Forgue de Bellegarde was appointed a Commandeur of the Legion d'Honneur, and Officier d'Académie, and commander of the Russian Order of St. Stanislaus.Bellegarde was born in Gap on 29 March 1841, the son of politician Calixte Joseph Camille de La Forgue de Bellegarde. He was married and had two sons. On 23 October 1905, he suffered a stroke and died at his home in Cellettes.Some sources report that La Forgue de Bellegarde competed in the equestrian events at the 1900 Olympic Games, finishing third in the long jump.
Emmanuel de Blommaert de Soye (15 October 1875 – 12 April 1944) was a Belgian horse rider who competed in the 1912 and 1920 Summer Olympics. In 1912 he won the bronze medal in the individual jumping competition, riding Clomore, and finished sixths with the Belgian team in the team jumping event. In the individual dressage competition he was 21st. In the individual eventing contest he was disqualified in the cross country ride, and the Belgian team was unplaced in the team eventing competition, when none of their riders were able to finish.Eight years later he and his horse Grizzly finished eleventh in the individual dressage event.
Daniel Ephrem Bouckaert (17 May 1894 – 26 December 1965) was a Belgian vaulter who competed in the 1920 Summer Olympics. In 1920 he won the gold medal in the individual vaulting competition as well as in the team vaulting event.
Pierre Louis Marie Bertran de Balanda (28 September 1887 – 28 March 1946) was a French horse rider who competed in the 1928 Summer Olympics.
He was born in Toulouse and died in Marseille.
In 1928, he and his horse Papillon won the silver medal in the individual jumping competition. They also finished fourth as part of the French jumping team in the team jumping competition.
Laura Graves (born July 22, 1987) is an American dressage rider. She represented the United States at the 2016 Summer Olympics where she won a bronze medal in the team dressage competition. After winning double silver medals at the 2018 World Equestrian Games in Tryon, NC, Laura became the first American dressage rider to be ranked No. 1 in FEI World rankings, aboard her longtime partner Verdades.
Éric Navet (born 9 May 1959) is a French equestrian and Olympic medalist. He was born in Bayeux. He won a bronze medal in show jumping at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona.He was selected to represent France, in 1990 at the world championships in Stockholm with his young stallion of 8 years old Quito de Baussy, bred by his father at their Haras the Baussy farm in Normandy, and won there both the gold individual and team medals Navet lives in southern California, where he trains World Cup rider Karl Cook, and continues to compete at the national and FEI levels.
Jean-François d'Orgeix (French pronunciation: [ʒɑ̃ fʁɑ̃swa dɔʁʒɛks]; 15 April 1921 – 4 July 2006) was a French equestrian, actor and Olympic medalist. He was born in Cap-d'Ail. He competed in show jumping at the 1948 Summer Olympics in London, where he won a bronze medal in the individual contest. He also competed in show jumping at the 1952 Summer Olympics in Helsinki and placed fifth with the French team.Under the name of Jean Pâqui he appeared in more than twenty films between 1933 and 1958.
