Theodore William Allen (August 23, 1919 – January 19, 2005) was an American independent scholar, writer, and activist, best known for his pioneering writings since the 1960s on white skin privilege and the origin of white identity. His major theoretical work The Invention of the White Race was published in two volumes: Racial Oppression and Social Control (1994) and The Origin of Racial Oppression in Anglo-America (1997). The central ideas of this opus however, appeared in much earlier works such as his seminal Class Struggle and the Origin of Racial Slavery: The Invention of the White Race, published as a pamphlet in 1975, and in expanded form the following year. He claimed that the notion of white race was invented as "a ruling class social control formation."Allen did research for the next quarter century to expand and document his ideas, particularly on the alleged relation of white supremacy to the working class.

Malcolm Katzenstein Brachman (December 9, 1926 – January 11, 2005) was an American bridge player who won a world championship.Brachman was born in Fort Worth, Texas.Brachman was married to Minda Delugach Brachman, a high-ranking player in the ACBL who won its annual mixed teams championship (Master Mixed Teams) in 1968 playing with Helen Sobel Smith, Oswald Jacoby, and Jim Jacoby. She died on March 19, 2003.He graduated from Yale University (BA) and Harvard University (Ph.D. physics), and later instructed at the University of Chicago and Southern Methodist University.

Robert Lee Smith (February 28, 1929 – January 5, 2005) was an American football fullback who played two seasons with the Detroit Lions of the National Football League (NFL). He was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the fourth round of the 1951 NFL Draft. He played college football at Texas A&M University and attended Mirabeau B. Lamar Senior High School in Houston, Texas.

Dr. Clyde Allen Hutchison Jr. (May 5, 1913 – August 29, 2005) was an American chemist notable for his research in magnetic resonance spectroscopy.

Hutchison was a member of the National Academy of Sciences and
a chairman and professor of the department of chemistry at the University of Chicago.
He was also a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences,
a fellow of the American Physical Society,
a member of the American Chemical Society,Guggenheim fellow at Oxford University,
the George Eastman Professor at Oxford University,
and a member of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
He was also a recipient of the Peter Debye Award in Physical Chemistry from the American Chemical Society. He served as editor of the Journal of Chemical Physics from 1953 - 1955 and again from 1958 - 1959.
Hutchison participated in the Manhattan Project.
The University of Chicago said that Hutchison "pioneered research in magnetic resonance spectroscopy".

Hendrikje van Andel-Schipper ([ˈɦɛndrɪkjə vɑn ˈɑndəl ˈsxɪpər]; born Hendrikje Schipper; 29 June 1890 – 30 August 2005) was a Dutch supercentenarian who lived to the age of 115 years, 62 days. She is the oldest person ever from the Netherlands, breaking the previous record of Catharina van Dam on 26 September 2003, and from 29 May 2004 was thought to be the oldest verified person in the world. She became the oldest living person in the Netherlands on 16 February 2001, at the age of 110 years and 232 days.

Mitchell Lee Hedberg (February 24, 1968 – March 30, 2005) was an American stand-up comedian known for his surreal humor and deadpan delivery. His comedy typically featured short, sometimes one-line jokes mixed with absurd elements and non sequiturs.Hedberg's comedy and onstage persona gained him a cult following, with audience members sometimes shouting out the punchlines to his jokes before he could finish them.

Rigoberto Tovar García (March 29, 1946 – March 27, 2005), better known as Rigo Tovar, was a Mexican musician, singer and actor. Famous for his cumbias, Tovar infused traditional Mexican and Latin music with modern instruments like the electric guitar and synthesizer and popular styles such as rock and soul music.
Tovar was born and raised in Matamoros, Tamaulipas. After moving to the neighborhood of East End, Houston, his musical career began to take off in the early 1970s. Blending cumbia, tropical, and modern pop rock, he quickly gained a large following. In 1971, Tovar released his first album entitled Matamoros Querido which garnered two hits, "Matamoros Querido" and "Lamento De Amor".
During his career, Tovar broke several attendance records in Mexico and throughout Latin America (many of which still stand to this day), sold over 30 million albums, and continues to influence countless artists of all genres.
