Jacques Stern (born 21 August 1949) is a cryptographer, currently a professor at the École Normale Supérieure. He received the 2006 CNRS Gold medal. His notable work includes the cryptanalysis of numerous encryption and signature schemes, the design of the Pointcheval–Stern signature algorithm, the Naccache–Stern cryptosystem and Naccache–Stern knapsack cryptosystem, and the block ciphers CS-Cipher, DFC, and xmx. He also contributed to the cryptanalysis of the SFLASH signature scheme.

Jean-Charles Naouri (born 8 March 1949) is a French businessman. He is chairman, chief executive officer and controlling shareholder of Groupe Casino.

On 10 April 2013 he was appointed as head of the French secret service, the Directorate-General for External Security (Direction générale des services extérieurs). He was the French Ambassador to Afghanistan from 2011 to 2013.

Yves Duteil (born 24 July 1949, in Neuilly-sur-Seine, Hauts-de-Seine) is a French singer-songwriter. He is the third child to be born in the family. Duteil is a noted proponent of the French language, the rights of children and the respect of environment. Duteil was the mayor of Précy-sur-Marne in Seine et Marne from 1989 to 2014.

Pierre Bergounioux (born 1949 in Brive-la-Gaillarde, Corrèze) is a French writer. He won the 1986 Prix Alain-Fournier for his second novel, Ce pas et le suivant. And in 2002, he won the SGDL literary grand prize for his body of work.

Alain Mosconi (born 9 September 1949) is a French former swimmer, Olympic medalist and world record holder. He competed at the 1968 and 1972 Summer Olympics in six freestyle, butterfly and medley relay events. In 1968 he won a bronze medal in the 400 m freestyle and finished in fifth place in the 200 m individual freestyle and 4 × 200 m freestyle relay. In 1972, his best achievement was seventh place in the 4 × 100 m freestyle relay.He won two medals at the European Championships in 1966 and 1970. In 1967 he set world records in the 400 metres freestyle and 800 metres freestyle.
He was president of General Motors, SEAT and Fiat, in France.

Daniel Lavoie (French pronunciation: [danjɛl lavwa]; born Joseph-Hubert-Gérald Lavoie, March 17, 1949) is a Canadian musician, actor, and singer best known for his song "Ils s'aiment" and the role of Frollo in musical Notre-Dame de Paris. He releases albums and performs on stage in Canada and France and tours in Canada and Europe.

Florence Steurer (later Penz, born 1 November 1949) is a French former alpine skier. She competed in the 1968 and 1972 Winter Olympics in the downhill, slalom, and giant slalom events and won a bronze medal in the slalom in 1972. She also finished fourth and sixth in the giant slalom, respectively.Steurer also won two world championship medals; a silver in combined in 1970 and a bronze in giant slalom in 1966. She has 27 World Cup podiums, including six in downhill, seven in giant slalom, and 14 in slalom. This includes four victories – three in slalom and one in giant slalom. Overall, she finished second in 1969 and third in 1968 and 1970. After retiring from competitions, she became director of a communication agency Duodecim. In 2009, she was made a chevalier of the Legion of Honor. Her husband Alain Penz and father-in-law Claude Penz are also Olympic alpine skiers.

Henri Seroka (born 1949) is a Belgian singer and composer. Although he began his career as a singer, he is known mostly for his compositions, especially film music, and for composing Belgium's official song for the 1984 Olympic Games.
