Arne_Strand

Arne Strand (17 March 1944 – 10 May 2023) was a Norwegian journalist and politician for the Labour Party. He was the political editor in the newspaper Dagsavisen until his death.
Strand graduated from the University of Oslo with the cand.mag. degree in 1968. He worked as a journalist in Vårt Land from 1964 to 1966, in Arbeiderbladet from 1966 to 1976, and in the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation from 1976 to 1987. Between 1987 and 1989 he was a State Secretary in the Office of the Prime Minister, as a part of Gro Harlem Brundtland's second cabinet.Having been political editor and news editor in his later years with the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation, in 1990 he was hired as political editor in Arbeiderbladet, which in 1997 changed its name to Dagsavisen. He was acting editor-in-chief from 2004 to 2005 and from 2009. From 1999 to 2006 he chaired the Norwegian branch of the International Press Institute.Strand was the adoptive father of the television host Christian Strand.Strand died on 10 May 2023, at the age of 79. He had been ill with cancer for 17 years prior to his death.

Young was appointed to the position by Governor Phil Scott following the resignation of T. J. Donovan and was the first woman to hold the position.

Anne_Spurkland

Anne Spurkland (born 22 August 1960) is a Norwegian anatomist and immunologist.
She finished the cand.med. degree at the University of Oslo in the autumn of 1986. In 1993 she delivered the doctoral thesis HLA Associated Genetic Susceptibility to Multiple Sclerosis and Coeliac disease, gaining the dr.med. degree.She became a professor at the University of Oslo. In 2017 she issued her first popular science book, Immun. Kroppens evige kamp for å overleve about the immune system. During the COVID-19 pandemic in Norway, Spurkland was often used by various media as an expert immunologist. She is a fellow of the Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters.Spurkland is married. In adopting children from Ethiopia, she learned Amharic. Spurkland grew up at Hvalstad in Asker, also settling there.
She has been an activist against high-rise development around Hvalstad Station. In having engaged herself with coeliac disease, she has also issued a cookbook of gluten-free cakes, Frie kaker, on the publishin house Spartacus in 2011.

Henry_Rayhons

Henry V. Rayhons (born May 8, 1936) was the Iowa State Representative from the 8th District. A Republican, he served in the Iowa House of Representatives from 1997 through 2015, representing the 16th District from 1997 to 2003 and the 11th District from 2003 to 2013. In 2014, Rayhons announced he would not seek reelection to another term.

Grace_Cadell

Grace Ross Cadell (October 25, 1855 – February 19, 1918) was a Scottish medical doctor and suffragist, and one of the first group of women to study medicine in Scotland and qualify.
She was, with Elsie Inglis, one of the initial entrants to the Edinburgh School of Medicine for Women, set up by Sophia Jex-Blake in 1886. She stood up to Jex-Blake over a disciplinary matter, being dismissed from the school and subsequently successfully sued Jex-Blake and her school. Her career as a physician and surgeon was devoted mainly to the care of women and children.
She became an active suffragette as was well known for public acts of defiance in the cause of women's suffrage. She was prominent in providing medical care and refuge for her fellow suffragettes, some of whom were released into her care directly from episodes of force feeding in prison. Her home became well known as a sanctuary for suffragettes.
