Damon Gus Tassos (December 5, 1923 – February 28, 2001) was a guard in the National Football League. He was drafted in the third round of the 1945 NFL Draft by The Yanks and played with the Detroit Lions that season. After another season with the Lions he went on to play three more with the Green Bay Packers.

Billy_Cross_(American_football)

William Jarrel Cross (May 3, 1929 – July 5, 2013) was a professional American football player who played running back for three seasons for the Chicago Cardinals. He finished his career as an all-star in the Interprovincial Rugby Football Union with the Toronto Argonauts in 1954. He died in Canadian, Texas in 2013.

Lonnie_"Bo"_Pilgrim

Lonnie Alfred "Bo" Pilgrim (May 8, 1928 – July 21, 2017) was the co-founder of Pilgrim's Pride, which at one time was one of the largest chicken producers in the United States. Pilgrim founded Pilgrim's Pride when he opened a feed store in 1946 in Pittsburg, Texas, with his older brother, Aubrey. He became the CEO of the company upon the death of his brother Aubrey in 1966, eventually amassing a net worth of $1 billion US.In 1989, when the Texas Senate was debating a bill to make major changes to the state workers' compensation system, Pilgrim handed out $10,000 US checks to nine of the 31 state senators while on the Senate floor two days before the vote. Pilgrim was not a supporter of the bill, and defended his actions by saying the checks were campaign contributions, not an attempt at bribery. The episode led to changes in the state's ethics laws.In addition to his holdings in Pilgrim's Pride, Pilgrim was also a principal shareholder of NETEX Bancorporation, a bank holding company which operated Pilgrim Bank, a bank with branches in Pittsburg and nearby Mount Pleasant.Pilgrim was also a noted philanthropist, giving money to many different charities and community organizations, including Dallas Baptist University to build the Pilgrim Chapel as well as the Patty and Bo Pilgrim Cancer Center in Mount Pleasant.Pilgrim gave the maximum amount allowed by law to Jeb Bush's 2016 Presidential Campaign. He was a frequent contributor to conservative politicians. For several consecutive years he would donate $25,000 to the NRCC.
Pilgrim died on July 21, 2017, in Pittsburg, Texas. He was 89 years old.

John_Wylie_(actor)

John Wylie Thomas (December 14, 1925 – May 11, 2004) was an American actor, who appeared in many live theater performances, television programs, and films. He was born in Peacock, Texas, and died of natural causes in New York City.Wylie debuted as an actor in 1954 at the Alley Theatre in Houston, while he was working as a research chemist. He acted with that theatre's company until 1985 and directed some of its productions.Wylie created the role of Col. Doctor Otternshlag in the original Broadway production of Grand Hotel under the direction of Tommy Tune. He also portrayed Senator Norval Hedges in Born Yesterday on Broadway in 1989.Wylie toured in a 1987-88 production of Man of La Mancha in the starring role of Don Miguel De Cervantes/Don Quitxote. In 1993, he played Ebeneezer Scrooge in a production of A Christmas Carol at the Victoria Theatre in Dayton, Ohio.On television he played John Dickinson in the mini-series, The Adams Chronicles.

Arne_Øien

Arne Øien (22 December 1928 – 5 October 1998) was a Norwegian economist and politician for the Labour Party. He was Minister of Petroleum and Energy from 1986 to 1989.
He was born in Oslo and graduated as cand.oecon. in 1954. He worked in Statistics Norway from 1955 to 1970, and was hired as a deputy under-secretary of state in the Ministry of Finance in 1971. He kept this job until 1978, when he became advisor of economical matters. From 1980 to 1990 he was the director of Statistics Norway. He was then permanent under-secretary of state in the Ministry of Finance (finansråd) from 1990 to 1995.Having a parallel career in politics, he was a State Secretary in the Office of the Prime Minister in 1981 under the first cabinet Brundtland. When the second cabinet Brundtland was formed in 1986, Øien was brought in as Minister of Petroleum and Energy. He lost the job when the second cabinet Brundtland fell following the 1989 election.Øien was a member of the board of Arbeiderbladet from 1981 to 1986 and Oslo Sporveier from 1996 to his death, the last two years as deputy board chairman.

Eskild_Jensen

Eskild Jensen (28 April 1925 – 1 April 2013) is a Norwegian civil servant and politician for the Labour Party.
He was born in Vestre Aker as a son of executive Eskild Jensen Sr. (1876–1955) and teacher Elizabeth Kobro (1889–1985). In 1957 he married civil servant Inger Aarskog. He enrolled at Oslo Commerce School, but as the occupation of Norway by Nazi Germany commenced in the same year, Jensen soon prioritized to work in the Norwegian resistance movement. He distributed an illegal newspaper compiled from BBC radio reports; listening to these was also illegal. He was caught by Gestapo in 1942, tortured, and imprisoned in the concentration camps Grini and from May 1943 to 1945 Sachsenhausen.After the war Jensen graduated in economics from the University of Oslo. In 1961 he was hired in the Ministry of Finance. He worked for the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation from 1962 to 1967 and 1969 to 1974. In 1974 he was appointed deputy under-secretary of state in the Ministry of Transport and Communications before serving as State Secretary in the Office of the Prime Minister from 1976 to 1980, as part of the Nordli's Cabinet. From 1980 to 1992 he served as director of the Norwegian Directorate of Public Roads.
