Arne Øien (22 December 1928 – 5 October 1998) was a Norwegian economist and politician for the Labour Party. He was Minister of Petroleum and Energy from 1986 to 1989.
He was born in Oslo and graduated as cand.oecon. in 1954. He worked in Statistics Norway from 1955 to 1970, and was hired as a deputy under-secretary of state in the Ministry of Finance in 1971. He kept this job until 1978, when he became advisor of economical matters. From 1980 to 1990 he was the director of Statistics Norway. He was then permanent under-secretary of state in the Ministry of Finance (finansråd) from 1990 to 1995.Having a parallel career in politics, he was a State Secretary in the Office of the Prime Minister in 1981 under the first cabinet Brundtland. When the second cabinet Brundtland was formed in 1986, Øien was brought in as Minister of Petroleum and Energy. He lost the job when the second cabinet Brundtland fell following the 1989 election.Øien was a member of the board of Arbeiderbladet from 1981 to 1986 and Oslo Sporveier from 1996 to his death, the last two years as deputy board chairman.

Paul Thyness (10 April 1930 in Aker, Norway – 30 March 2016 in Oslo) was a Norwegian politician for the Conservative Party.
In 1955 he graduated with the cand.philol. degree and majoring in political science at the University of Oslo. He was a member of the board of Norwegian Institute of International Affairs (NUPI) from 1972 to 1977 and from 1988 to 1992. He authored a number of books.In 1963, during the short-lived Lyng's Cabinet, he was appointed State Secretary in the Office of the Prime Minister. He was elected to the Storting (Parliament of Norway) from Oslo in 1965, and was re-elected on three occasions. Paul Thyness was Assistant Administrator of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and head of the Bureau for Special Activities of the UNDP in New York from 1980 to 1988.

Thomas Fredrik Olsen or Fred Olsen (born 1 January 1929) is a Norwegian shipping magnate and Chairman of the companies in the Fred. Olsen & Co. company. He is the fourth generation running the Fred. Olsen Group, founded by his great grandfather Petter Olsen and named after his grandfather Thomas Fredrik Olsen. Though he remains the chairman of the companies, ownership and CEO functions are retained by his daughter Anette S. Olsen. In addition to his jobs within the Fred. Olsen group he was for a period also chairman of the Aker Group.
Fred Olsen has been called "The Norwegian Howard Hughes" for his great wealth and avoidance of publicity.It was announced on 3 January 2006, that Fred Olsen was to sell almost his entire collection of Edvard Munch paintings; the auction through Sotheby's London fetched almost £17m. Olsen has previously been involved in a legal dispute with his younger brother, Petter Olsen, concerning the important Munch collection brought together by their father Thomas Fredrik Olsen; according to the will of their mother Henriette Olsen, they were to be left to the younger son. Fred Olsen contested the will but lost the case in the Oslo District Court in 2001.He is a fellow of the Norwegian Academy of Technological Sciences.

Ralph Mollatt (28 March 1926 – 5 August 1983) was a Norwegian businessperson.
He was born in Oslo, and studied in Syracuse, New York and Grenoble. He worked in the family company M. Peterson & Søn, and was CEO from 1963 to 1980. His younger brother Erik was later CEO from 1983 to 2002.For his work, Ralph Mollatt was decorated with the Royal Norwegian Order of St. Olav.

Leif Terje Løddesøl (24 April 1935 – 18 November 2021) was a Norwegian businessperson.
He was born in Oslo as a son of Aasulv Løddesøl (1896–1978) and Liv Marie Bjørlykke (1905–1994). He has been married twice. He graduated from the University of Oslo with the cand.jur. degree in 1960, and studied further, among others at The Hague Academy of International Law and the College of Europe in Brussels. After a period as deputy judge in Hardanger District Court he worked in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 1963 to 1966 and the Norwegian Shipowners' Association from 1966 to 1969.He was then the chief executive officer of ScanAustral from 1969 to 1973, Wilh. Wilhelmsen from 1973 to 1980 and Den norske Creditbank from 1980 to 1988. The bank became embroiled in hardships during a banking crisis (see among others the Black Monday 1987), and an employee also defrauded the bank. Løddesøl was removed as chief executive in 1988, but returned to the corporate executive team in Wilh. Wilhelmsen, where he stayed until 2000. From 2000 to 2002 he was the president of the Norwegian Shipowners' Association.He was a board member of Den norske Creditbank in the 1970s and chaired the Norwegian Bankers' Association from 1982 to 1984. He chaired the Norwegian National Opera from 1996 to 2005 and Wilh. Wilhelmsen from 2000 to 2003. He chaired the corporate council of Statoil from 1996, and later the board from 2002 to 2003. He had to leave after the Iran case.He was decorated as a Knight, First Class of the Order of St. Olav in 1985.

Hans Høegh (1 September 1926 – 31 October 2010) was a Norwegian businessman and organizational leader.
Høegh was President of the Norwegian Red Cross from 1975 to 1981. Thereafter he was General Secretary of the League of Red Cross Societies in Geneve. From 1988 to 1993 was Høegh Assistant Secretary General in the United Nations. He served as Special Representative of the UN Secretary General for the Promotion of the United Nations Decade of Disabled Persons between 1988 and 1993.

Harald Throne-Holst (7 December 1905 – 8 December 1986) was a Norwegian industrial leader and a chemical engineer. He was managing director and later chairman of the Freia chocolate factory, and served as President of the Federation of Norwegian Industries and as chairman of Foreningen Norden.

Jens-Halvard Bratz (21 April 1920 – 19 January 2005) was a Norwegian business executive and government minister with the Conservative Party. He served as Norwegian Minister of Industry from 1981–1983.Jens-Halvard Bratz was born at Østre Aker in Oslo, Norway. He was a student at Oslo Commerce School (Oslo Handelsgymnasium) (1940) with continued studies in England and the United States (1945-1946). Bratz was married in 1946 to Sissel Lie (1922-1983) and was a son-in-law of Trygve Lie, who served as the first Secretary-General of the United Nations.In 1941, he was first employed at the ironworks firm Grorud Jernvarefabrikk in Groruddalen followed by various positions with the firm. He was for many years director of the Grorud Jernvarefabrikk (1941-1981). The ironworks had been founded by his father Ragnvald Bratz (1889-1968) in 1917. He also served in the leadership of numerous organisations. He was vice-president and president (1971-73) of the Norwegian Industrial Federation and chairman of the Norwegian Industrial Bank (1984-88). He was a member of the Board of Directors of the Mechanical Workshop Association (Mekaniske Verksteders Landsforening) and served as chairman (1970-1981). He was among the people who initiated the Norwegian Glacier Museum (Norsk Bremuseum) in Sogndal during 1991.Bratz also held various positions with the Conservative Party including chairman of the board of finance (1974-1981).

He served as Minister of Industry in the cabinet of Kåre Willoch from its accession in October 1981 until his resignation on 16 September 1983.

Erik Borge (22 October 1924 – 11 May 2008) was a Norwegian film director and screenwriter. He was born in Kristiania. Among his productions was Trost i taklampa from 1955, based on Alf Prøysen's novel. He was manager of the company Norsk Film from 1966 to 1984. He received the Amanda Committee's Honorary Award in 1989, shared with Erik Diesen.

Seymon Deutsch (May 18, 1935 – June 12, 2013) was an American bridge player. He started playing bridge as a student at the Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, alongside Bobby Wolff, but afterwards focused on a career in business. He returned to competitive bridge in 1980s, when he started gaining successes, which include titles in Grand National Teams (1986), the Spingold Knockout Teams (1991) and three Vanderbilt Knockout Teams (1994, 1996 and 2006). He won two world titles: the 1988 World Team Olympiad in Venice and 1994 Rosenblum Cup. Deutsch was 2007 recipient of Sidney H. Lazard Jr. Sportsmanship Award. ACBL Hall of Fame player Zia Mahmood told The New York Times at the time, "There are a few people about whom never a bad word is said ... Seymon is one of them".Deutsch was born and spent most of his life in Laredo, Texas. He ran a fashion store chain, Joe Brand, as well as a cattle ranch with large operation in South Texas. He was survived by his wife Linda née Brand and their four children.
