Joe Melson (born May 11, 1935) is an American singer and a BMI Award-winning songwriter best known for his collaborations with Roy Orbison, including "Only the Lonely" and "Crying", which are both in the Grammy Hall of Fame and have both been included in Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. Melson was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2018.

Fans of the genre consider him the king of Jíbaro music. Known as "El Cantor de la Montaña" (The Singer from the Mountain), Morales Ramos had two brothers, Luis ("Luisito") and Juan María ("Moralito"), who also attained major recognition as jíbaro singers.

Laura Fygi (born 27 August 1955) is a Dutch jazz singer.
Fygi's father was a Dutch businessman, a director of Philips, and her mother an Egyptian belly dancer. She was raised in Uruguay, until her father's death in the late 1960s, when she moved back to the Netherlands with her mother. She was then under the care of a French-speaking governess before being adopted by the principal of her school. During the 1980s, she was a member of Centerfold, an all-female Dutch disco band which was popular in the Europe and Japan.In the early 1990s, she began a solo career and recorded her debut album with Toots Thielemans. During her career, she has worked with Johnny Griffin, Michel Legrand, Clark Terry and the Pasadena Roof Orchestra and considers Julie London one of her influences. She has sung in English, Chinese, French, Portuguese, and Spanish.

Francesco Pippo (born 2 September 1940), known professionally as Pippo Franco, is an Italian actor, comedian, television presenter, and singer. He made his name first as a musician in the early 1960s, and in the late 1960s began a career in film, starring in a great number of commedia sexy all'italiana, the "sexy comedy" subgenre of Italian comedy. In the 1970s he expanded into television, acting in TV movies and presenting variety shows. His type of comedy borrows heavily from cabaret. Throughout his career he continued to sing, appearing many times at the Sanremo Festival. He has made children's music as well, and has co-written three books on (linguistic) humor.
