Johnny PayCheck (born Donald Eugene Lytle; May 31, 1938 – February 19, 2003) was an American country music singer and Grand Ole Opry member notable for recording the David Allan Coe song "Take This Job and Shove It". He achieved his greatest success in the 1970s as a force in country music's "outlaw movement" popularized by artists Hank Williams Jr., Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, Billy Joe Shaver, and Merle Haggard. In 1980, PayCheck appeared on the PBS music program Austin City Limits, though in the ensuing decade, his music career slowed due to drug, alcohol, and legal problems. He served a prison sentence in the early 1990s, and his declining health effectively ended his career in early 2000. In autographs, PayCheck signed his name "PayCheck" with the camel case C.

Lawrence Corbett Goodwyn (July 16, 1928 – September 29, 2013) was an American journalist and political theorist known for his study of American populism. He served as a professor at Duke University from 1971 to 2003.Goodwyn was best known for writing Democratic Promise: The Populist Moment in America, a book which chronicles the origins and rise of the People's Party. The book was nominated for the National Book Award for Nonfiction in 1977, and it achieved finalist status. An abridged version of Democratic Promise, titled The Populist Moment: A Short History of the Agrarian Revolt in America, was published in 1978. The Populist Moment became a staple in university history seminars, labor organizing institutes and community activism efforts for years to come.
His publications generally focused on the Southern United States, but in 1991 he published Breaking the Barrier: the Rise of Solidarity in Poland, a book that focused on a working class movement from another region: Poland's Solidarnosc movement.

Fernando Monteiro Torres (14 November 1927 – 4 September 2008) was a Brazilian actor and voice-over artist, as well as a television, film and theater director and producer. Torres' career in Brazilian film, stage and television spanned over five decades. He was best known to international movie audiences for his supporting role as Americo in the 1985 film, Kiss of the Spider Woman, which won several awards.He was born in Guaçuí, Espírito Santo, Brazil, on November 14, 1927. Torres was married to Academy Award-nominated Brazilian actress Fernanda Montenegro from 1953 until his death. The couple had two children together, film director Cláudio Torres (pt) and actress Fernanda Torres. Torres founded the Teatro dos Sete in 1959.
Fernando Torres died in his home in Rio de Janeiro of pulmonary emphysema on September 4, 2008, at the age of 80.

George Herman O'Brien Jr. (September 10, 1926 – March 11, 2005) was a United States Marine Corps officer who received the Medal of Honor, the United States's highest military decoration, for his actions during the First Battle of the Hook in the Korean War.

Joseph Hubertus Pilates (9 December 1883 – 9 October 1967) was a German-born physical trainer, writer, and inventor. He is credited with inventing and promoting the Pilates method of physical fitness. He patented a total of 26 apparatuses in his lifetime.
