French male boxers

Bruno Girard (born November 25, 1970, in Blois, France) was a French boxer who competed in the super middleweight and light heavyweight divisions, he held the WBA title in both divisions.

Julien Lorcy (born 12 April 1972) is a French former professional boxer who held the WBA lightweight title twice.

Ali Hallab (born 4 April 1981 in Mantes-la-Jolie, Yvelines) is a French former professional boxer who competed from 2009 to 2013, holding the WBO European super bantamweight title from 2012 to 2013. As an amateur, he won the bronze medal at the 2005 World Championships.

Alexis Vastine (17 November 1986 – 9 March 2015) was a French boxer who won a bronze medal at the 2008 Summer Olympics in the Light Welterweight division. He also competed in the 2012 Summer Olympics, where he was eliminated in the quarterfinals in a controversial decision. He died in the Villa Castelli helicopter collision during the filming of French TV reality show Dropped for the TF1 network.

Jean-Marc Gilbert Mormeck (born 3 June 1972) is a French former professional boxer who competed from 1995 to 2014. He is a two-time unified world cruiserweight champion, having held the WBA, WBC and The Ring world titles twice between 2005 and 2007. He was the first boxer to hold unified cruiserweight title since Evander Holyfield in 1988, and the first fighter to hold The Ring cruiserweight title since Carlos De León in 1987. He was ranked by BoxRec as the world's top 10 cruiserweight from 2001 to 2005 and in 2007, and was ranked No.1 in 2003 and 2004. Mormeck also challenged for the unified world heavyweight title in 2012.

Laurent Dauthuille (20 February 1924 – 10 July 1971) was a French boxer.
Arriving in Montreal in the late 1940s, he was nicknamed the Tarzan of Buzenval. During his career Dauthuille beat notable fighters such as Jake LaMotta, Steve Belloise, Tony Janiro, Eugene Hairston, Norman Hayes, Johnny Greco, Paddy Young, Bobby Dawson, Tuzo Portuguez, Luc van Dam and Robert Charron. Dauthuille's biggest fight came on September 13, 1950 he fought Jake LaMotta, a boxer he once bested by unanimous decision, for the world middleweight championship. He was ahead on all cards going into the 15th and final round of the match, when he was felled by a late flurry of punches from LaMotta. He ultimately lost by knockout when he was counted out with 13 seconds left in the fight. The fight was named Ring Magazine's fight of the year for 1950. He fought 15 more times but never again for a world title.

Hippolyte Annex (14 February 1933 - 21 February 2021) was a French former professional boxer. He was four times French champion, holding the French welterweight title from 1960 when he beat Michel Lombardet to 1961 and the middleweight title from 1961 to 1963. In 1962, he unsuccessfully fought Laszlo Papp for the EBU European middleweight title.

André Routis (July 16, 1900 – July 16, 1969) was a French professional boxer. He fought 86 times between 1919 and 1929; winning 54 (12 by knockout), losing 25 and drawing 7. After a victory over Tony Canzoneri he held the World Featherweight title from 1928 to 1929. Earlier in his career Routis competed as a bantamweight, where he won the French title and fought three times for the EBU title. Before turning professional Routis won the French amateur bantamweight championship in 1918.

Robert Cohen (15 November 1930 – 2 March 2022) was a French boxer. Cohen was world bantamweight champion from 1954 to 1956. He was managed by Robert (Bobby) Diamond, and Gaston Charles-Raymond.

Jean Galia (born 20 March 1905 in Ille-sur-Têt, Pyrénées-Orientales, died 17 January 1949 in Toulouse) was a French rugby union and rugby league footballer and champion boxer. He is credited with establishing the sport of rugby league in France in 1934, where it is known as rugby à treize ("rugby 13s").
Playing in the forwards, Galia made his international debut for the France national rugby union team in a 1927 test against England in Paris. After 20 internationals, He later played in France's first ever rugby league international, also against England in Paris, on 15 April 1934 and was captain of the France national rugby league team in its early days. Following France's tour of Northern England, Galia arranged a series of demonstration matches around France.The Courtney Goodwill Trophy, international rugby league's first, was presented for the first time in 1936 and depicted Galia, along with other pioneering greats of the code, James Lomas (Britain), Albert Baskiville (New Zealand) and Dally Messenger (Australia).In 1988 Galia was inducted into the Rugby League Hall of Fame.
