Henriette_Bie_Lorentzen

Henriette Bie Lorentzen (18 July 1911 – 23 August 2001), born Anna Henriette Wegner Haagaas, was a Norwegian journalist, humanist, peace activist, feminist, co-founder of the Nansen Academy, resistance member and concentration camp survivor during World War II, and publisher and editor-in-chief of the women's magazine Kvinnen og Tiden (1945–1955).

Johnny_Lucadello

John Lucadello (February 22, 1919 – October 30, 2001) was an American professional baseball player. Primarily a second baseman, he appeared in 239 Major League games for the St. Louis Browns (1938–1941; 1946) and New York Yankees (1947). The 5 ft 11 in (1.80 m), 160 lb (73 kg) native of Thurber, Texas, threw and batted right-handed. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was the brother of longtime MLB scout Tony Lucadello.
Johnny Lucadello's pro career lasted from 1936 to 1955, with four seasons (1942–1945) missed because of his wartime service. In six Major League seasons, he had 686 at bats, 95 runs scored, 181 hits, 36 doubles, 7 triples, and 5 home runs. He had 60 RBIs, 6 stolen bases, 93 walks, a .264 batting average, a .353 on-base percentage, a .359 slugging percentage, 246 total bases and 5 sacrifice hits.
He died in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 82.

Arne_Semb-Johansson

Arne Semb-Johansson (20 September 1919 – 22 February 2001) was a Norwegian zoologist. He was born in Kristiania. He chaired the Norwegian Entomological Society from 1950 to 1953. He was assigned as a professor of zoology at the University of Oslo from 1959. Among his early works were studies of the nervous system and endocrine system of insects. He edited the six volume encyclopedia Cappelens Dyreleksikon, published 1979–1981. He was decorated Knight, First Class of the Order of St. Olav in 1987.During the occupation of Norway by Nazi Germany he was a central member of Milorg, being a courier for leader Jens Christian Hauge. He was a member of the board of Norway's Resistance Museum from 1973. In 1995 he published the book Fem år for fred og frihet med Milorg 1940–1945.

Jørn_Ording

Jørn Ording (21 February 1916 – 11 March 2001) was a Norwegian actor, theatre instructor and screenwriter.
He was born in Kristiania as a son of Jørgen Fredrik Ording (1880–1930). He was also a nephew of Fredrik and Johannes Ording, a first cousin of Arne Ording, a second cousin of Aake Anker Ording and a first cousin once removed of Hans Ording.He made his stage debut in 1938 at Den Nationale Scene, and was hired at the National Theatre in 1939. From 1944 to 1945, during the German occupation of Norway, he was in exile in Sweden, working at Fri Norsk Scene. He returned to the National Theatre after the war and worked there until his retirement.He also appeared in films, including Rikard Nordraak (1945), Englandsfarere (1946), The Viking Watch of the Danish Seaman (1948), Ukjent mann (1951), and Kasserer Jensen (1954). He wrote the screenplay for films such as Støv på hjernen (1959).

Juan_José_Arreola

Juan José Arreola Zúñiga (September 21, 1918 – December 3, 2001) was a Mexican writer, academic, and actor. He is considered Mexico's premier experimental short story writer of the 20th century. Arreola is recognized as one of the first Latin American writers to abandon realism; he used elements of fantasy to underscore existentialist and absurdist ideas in his work. Although he is little known outside Mexico, Arreola has served as the literary inspiration for a legion of Mexican writers who have sought to transform their country's realistic literary tradition by introducing elements of magical realism, satire, and allegory. Alongside Jorge Luis Borges, he is considered one of the masters of the hybrid subgenre of the essay-story. Arreola is primarily known for his short stories and he only published one novel, La feria (The Fair; 1963).
