Catulle Mendès (22 May 1841 – 8 February 1909) was a French poet and man of letters.

Théodore Aubanel (Occitan:Teodòr Aubanèu; 26 March 1829 – 2 November 1886) was a Provençal poet. He was born in Avignon in a family of printers.
Aubanel started writing poetry in French but quickly switched to Provençal, due to the influence of Joseph Roumanille. He is known primarily for La Miougrano entreduberto (1860, The Split Pomegranate) and Li Fiho d'Avignoun (1885, The Young Ladies of Avignon), two collections of lyric poems.
He died in Avignon.

Théodore Faullain de Banville (14 March 1823 – 13 March 1891) was a French poet and writer. His work was influential on the Symbolist movement in French literature in the late 19th century.

Pierre Martin Victor Richard de Laprade (13 January 1812 – 13 December 1883), known as Victor de Laprade, was a French poet and critic.

Alfred Victor, Comte de Vigny (27 March 1797 – 17 September 1863) was a French poet and early French Romanticist. He also produced novels, plays, and translations of Shakespeare.

Raymond Roussel (French pronunciation: [ʁɛmɔ̃ ʁusɛl]; 20 January 1877 – 14 July 1933) was a French poet, novelist, playwright, musician, and chess enthusiast. Through his novels, poems, and plays he exerted a profound influence on certain groups within 20th century French literature, including the Surrealists, Oulipo, and the authors of the nouveau roman.

Gustave Kahn (21 December 1859, in Metz – 5 September 1936, in Paris) was a French Symbolist poet and art critic. He was also active, via publishing and essay-writing, in defining Symbolism and distinguishing it from the Decadent Movement.
