Pierre Eugène Bérégovoy (French pronunciation: [pjɛʁ øʒɛn beʁeɡɔvwa]; 23 December 1925 – 1 May 1993) was a French politician who served as Prime Minister of France under President François Mitterrand from 2 April 1992 to 29 March 1993. He was a member of the Socialist Party and Member of Parliament for Nièvre's 1st constituency.
Michel Jean-Pierre Debré (French pronunciation: [miʃɛl dəbʁe]; 15 January 1912 – 2 August 1996) was the first Prime Minister of the French Fifth Republic. He is considered the "father" of the current Constitution of France. He served under President Charles de Gaulle from 1959 to 1962. In terms of political personality, Debré was intense and immovable and had a tendency to rhetorical extremism.
Martin Malvy (born 24 February 1936) is a French politician of the Socialist Party.In 1992, Malvy was the spokesmen of the French government. Between 1992 and 1993, he served as Minister of Budget. He later served as president of the Région Midi-Pyrénées between 1998 and 2015.
In the Socialist Party's 2011 primaries, Malvy endorsed Martine Aubry as the party's candidate for the 2012 presidential election.
Georges Frêche (July 9, 1938 – October 24, 2010) was a French politician. He served as President of the Languedoc-Roussillon Region from 2004 until his death: prior to that, he had been mayor of Montpellier for 27 years, and was also a former member (député) of the National Assembly. Frêche had been a member of the French Socialist Party until he was expelled on January 27, 2007.
A long-time political figure within French political circles, Frêche was an extremely controversial character, considered by some a great builder and visionary, while criticised by others and judged in court for his controversial remarks, which were sometimes interpreted as racist.
Roger Quilliot (19 June 1925 – 17 July 1998) was a French politician. He served as Housing Minister from May 22 to June 23, 1981, under former French President François Mitterrand. He was also a Socialist member of the French Senate for the Puy-de-Dôme from 1974 to 1981, then from 1983 to April 1998, and again from September 1986 to 1998. He also served as the mayor of Clermont-Ferrand from 1973 to 1998.
Georges Gorse (15 February 1915 – 17 March 2002) was a French politician and diplomat.
Born in Cahors, he qualified in 1939 as a professor at the University of Cairo. During World War II he joined Charles de Gaulle and the Free French as Director of Information, served on the Provisional Consultative Assembly.
After the war he was elected to represent the Vendée in the French National Assembly from 1946 to 1951, and then the Section Française de l'Internationale Ouvrière (SFIO) from 1951 onwards. He is president of the departmental council of Charente-Maritime since
2008 and president of the Assembly of the Departments of France since 2015.He was Secretary of State for Transport within the government of François Fillon. Appointed to the post on 18 May 2007, he was previously Minister of Agriculture (2004–2007), Minister-Delegate for Aviation and Maritime Affairs (2002–2004) and Minister-Delegate for Budgets (2004).
Pascal Arrighi (16 June 1921 – 18 August 2004) was a French politician.
Arrighi was born in Vico, Corse-du-Sud. He represented the French Radical Party (from 1956 to 1958), the Union for the New Republic (from 1958 to 1962), and the National Front (from 1986 to 1988) in the French National Assembly. He joined the National Centre of Independents and Peasants in 1989.
Maurice Arreckx (13 December 1917 - 21 March 2001) was a French politician. He served as the mayor of Toulon from 1959 to 1985. He served as a member of the National Assembly from 1978 to 1981, and again in 1986, before serving as a member of the French Senate from 1986 to 1995.
