Alê Abreu (born March 6, 1971) is a Brazilian film director and screenwriter. Sírius, his first short film, debuted at the 1993 Anima Mundi as the only Brazilian animation that year. It won the Best Film Award at the Festival de Cine para Niños y Jovenes and was also screened at the Mostra Internacional de Cinema São Paulo and at the section Animation for Children of the Hiroshima International Animation Festival. His second short film, Espantalho (lit. "Scarecrow"), released in 1998, won the 3rd Best Brazilian Animation at the Anima Mundi, the Best Art Direction Award at the Brazilian Film Festival of Miami, and was nominated for Best Animated Feature at the 1st Grande Prêmio Cinema Brasil. His first feature film, Garoto Cósmico, debuted at the 2007 Anima Mundi. In 2013, at the Ottawa International Animation Festival, he released his second film, Boy and the World. This film became an international success, was nominated at the 88th Academy Awards for Best Animated Feature, and won several prizes, including the Best Feature Film at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival and the Best Animated Feature-Independent at the Annie Awards.

Renata Pallottini or Renata Monachesi Pallottini (São Paulo, January 20, 1931 – São Paulo, July 8, 2021) was a Brazilian playwright, essayist, poet, theater professor and translator. She was an award-winning author of poetry, plays, essays, fiction, children's literature, theater theory, and television programs who was notable in the Brazilian literary and theater scenes. In a considerable part of her production, it is possible to identify the questioning and the combat against the social values that delimitated the woman's role in society.
Renata Pallottini established her name in the history of Brazilian theater as the first woman to attend the Dramaturgy course at the School of Dramatic Arts at the University of São Paulo and the first to write for the theater in the 1960s in São Paulo. With an innovative performance, she brought a textual proposal different from what was being done in São Paulo in the theatrical field, which culminated in her identification as a member of the new dramaturgy, a group formed by playwrights who were new to the city of São Paulo and who, in the 1960s and 1970s, promoted transformations in the theater. She was the author of the first Brazilian theater production - A Lâmpada (1960) - that dealt with the theme of homosexuality.
With an intense production, Renata transited through the Arts and Literature with mastery and creativity, having her work marked by a certain performativity, a trait that comes from her relationship with theater. In addition, she also held political and administrative positions in the theatrical sphere. Pallottini died at the age of 90, as a result of multiple myeloma.

Marcelo Rubens Paiva (born 1959) is a Brazilian writer born in São Paulo, Brazil. He is the son of Rubens Paiva, who disappeared during Brazil's military dictatorship in 1971.

Heloisa Braz de Oliveira Prieto (born August 26, 1954) is a Brazilian writer, cultural researcher and translator with a master's degree in communication and semiotics, and a PhD in Literary Theory.

Demétrio Martinelli Magnoli is a Brazilian sociologist, PhD in human geography, writer and columnist. While in 2012, he was named by the Época magazine as one of the "New Right's shrill voices.", Magnoli considers himself a centre-left social-democrat.

Antônio Bivar Battistetti Lima (25 April 1939 – 5 July 2020), better known simply as Antônio Bivar, was a Brazilian writer of the Beat Generation and playwright.

André Ferreira da Silva (born January 10, 1975), better known by his pen name André Vianco, is a Brazilian best-selling novelist, screenwriter, and film and television director. Specialized in urban fantasy and horror, supernatural and vampire fiction, he rose to fame in 1999 with the novel Os Sete. As of 2016, his books have sold over a million copies, and in 2018 he was named, alongside Max Mallmann, Raphael Draccon and Eduardo Spohr, one of the leading Brazilian fantasy writers of the 21st century.

Beatriz Bracher (born August 7, 1961) is a Brazilian writer.
Bracher was born in São Paulo, and studied Brazilian and Portuguese Literature at the Pontifical Catholic Universities of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. She was the founder and editor of the literary magazine 34 Letras from 1988 to 1991 and of Editora 34 publishing house, from 1992 to 2000. Bracher's first novel, Azul e Dura, was published in 2002. Her novel Anatomia do Paraíso (2015) won the São Paulo Prize for Literature and Rio Prize for Literature.Bracher wrote the screenplay for the films Cronicamente Inviável (2000), Os Inquilinos (2009, Best Screenplay award at Festival do Rio) and O Abismo Prateado (2011).

Philadelpho Menezes (1960 in São Paulo, Brazil – 2000 following a car accident). Brazilian poet, visual poet, pioneer of new media poetry, professor in the Communication and Semiotics post-graduation program at the Pontifical University of São Paulo. He performed research for his post-graduate degree at the University of Bologna, in Italy (1990). With Brazilian artist Wilton Azevedo Philadepho Menezes created a pioneer intermedia-poetry CD-ROM: "InterPoesia. Poesia Hipermidia Interativa" (1998). In Italy he collaborated with the first net-poetry project: Karenina.it, by Italian artist Caterina Davinio.

Pedro José Ferreira da Silva (São Paulo, 29 June 1951), known as Glauco Mattoso, is a poet, writer, novelist, essayist, translator and songwriter from Brazil.
