Wilmer Webster Tanner ((1909-12-17)December 17, 1909 – (2011-10-28)October 28, 2011) was an American zoologist, professor and curator. He was associated with Brigham Young University (BYU), in Provo, Utah for much of his life and published extensively on the snakes and salamanders of the Great Basin.
Virginia Farrer Cutler (December 17, 1905 – May 20, 1993) was an American academic. She was the head of the Home Economics Department at the University of Utah and dean of the College of Family Living at Brigham Young University (BYU). She also worked for the United States Point Four Program in Southeast Asia, established a home science degree at the University of Ghana, and served on the White House Consumer Committee under President Richard Nixon.
Cutler was born in Park City, Utah and was raised in Murray, Utah on a farm. After graduating from high school, she studied education at the University of Utah on a four-year scholarship and graduated in 1927. She married Ralph Garr Cutler in 1929, gave birth to two sons, and became a widow in 1931, just two years after her marriage. She taught school in Utah in order to support her family before moving to California to attend Stanford University. After graduating from Stanford with her master's degree in 1937, Cutler enrolled in Cornell University, receiving her doctorate in 1946. She then became the head of the Home Economics Department at the University of Utah, where she helped establish the Sterling Sill Home Living Center and advocated for higher education for women. She later served as dean of the College of Family Living at Brigham Young University from 1961 to 1972. In between her years working as a university administrator, Cutler traveled to Thailand and Indonesia through the United States Point Four Program (sponsored by the US Department of State) to work as an education advisor and economic consultant. She stayed in Southeast Asia for a total of seven years, establishing schools and training new teachers. Then, in 1966, Cutler traveled to Ghana to establish the Department of Home Science at the University of Ghana. Later in her life, she served as president of the Utah chapter of the American Association of University Women and as a member of the White House Consumer Committee from 1972 to 1975. She died on May 20, 1993, having received multiple honors and awards. The Virginia F. Cutler Lecture Series, held annually at Brigham Young University by the College of Family, Home, and Social Sciences, is named after her.

Odd Kjeld Østbye (1925–2009) was a Norwegian architect, professor at the Oslo School of Architecture and Design (1988-1993), and rector of the same school from 1990 to 1993.After graduating with his examen artium degree in 1944, Østbye studied construction at the Norwegian National Academy of Craft and Art Industry until 1948, in preparation for a getting his degree at the Oslo School of Architecture and Design. From 1949 to 1952, he worked for the Oslo city architect's office. In 1961, Østbye began his own architectural business. Østbye received the King's Medal of Merit in 2004.Among the works he has carried out are Grorud fire station, Snarøya Church, Kirkelandet Church, Karasjok Church, Åssiden Church, Venabygd Chapel, and Sletta Church.
Kaare Reidar Norum (24 December 1932 – 22 November 2019) was a Norwegian physician and professor of nutrition. He served as rector of the University of Oslo from 1999 to 2001.
He was born in Oslo. He was hired as a docent at the University of Oslo in 1969 and advanced to professor in 1972. He served as vice dean of the Faculty of Medicine from 1983 to 1985, dean from 1986 to 1988 and rector from 1999 to 2001.He was a fellow of the Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters since 1986; Commander of the Order of St. Olav in 1999 (Knight since 1992) and Commander of the Order of the Polar Star.Norum became a member of Statens ernæringsråd in 1971 and chaired the council several times. He appeared numerous times in the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation, speaking on topics within nutrition, notably together with Ingrid Espelid Hovig.
Yngvar Løchen (31 May 1931 – 28 July 1998) was a Norwegian sociologist.
He took his dr.philos. in 1965 and was hired as associate professor of community medicine at the University of Oslo the same year. In 1971 he was appointed professor in the sociology of medicine at the University of Tromsø. He served as chancellor from 1977 to 1981.He was also chairman of the Hovedkomiteen for norsk forskning from 1974 to 1977, and of the Rådet for samfunnsvitenskapelig forskning from 1985 to 1989.Løchen's 1965 work Idealer og realiteter i et psykiatrisk sykehus (Ideals and Realities in a Psychiatric Hospital) was selected for the Norwegian Sociology Canon in 2009–2011.
Gene R. Summers (July 31, 1928 – December 12, 2011) was an American modernist architect. Considered to have been Mies van der Rohe's "right-hand man", he assisted his famed employer in the design of the iconic Seagram Building on Park Avenue on the island of Manhattan in New York City. Later, in private practice, he designed the huge McCormick Place convention center in Chicago, Illinois.
Mosse Jørgensen (3 January 1921 – 30 June 2009) was a Norwegian school principal and non-fiction writer.
She is especially remembered as a co-founder and the first principal of a reformed secondary school in Oslo in 1967, Forsøksgymnaset. She published the book Kunsten å overleve med en tenåring i huset in 1969. Her book Fra skoleopprør til opprørsskole from 1971 was translated into eight languages. She was awarded the Medal of St. Hallvard in 1993, and the Ole Brumm prize in 1998.

Sir Walter Logie Forbes Murdoch, (17 September 1874 – 30 July 1970) was a prominent Australian academic and essayist famous for his intelligence and wit. He was a founding professor of English and former Chancellor of the University of Western Australia (UWA) in Perth, Western Australia.
A member of the prominent Australian Murdoch family, he was the father of Catherine, later prominent as Dr Catherine King (1904–2000), a radio broadcaster in Western Australia; the uncle of both Sir Keith, a journalist and newspaper executive, and Ivon, a soldier in the Australian Army; and the great uncle of international media proprietor Rupert Murdoch.
Murdoch University is named in Sir Walter's honour; as is Murdoch, the suburb surrounding its main campus, located in Perth, Western Australia.
