Gary_Tillery

Gary Tillery is an American writer and artist known for his biographies focusing on the spiritual lives of famous figures, and for his public sculptures. His 2009 book, The Cynical Idealist, was named the official book of the 2010 John Lennon Tribute in New York City, and he created the centerpiece sculpture of the Chicago Vietnam Veterans Memorial, dedicated in 2005.

Elbert Scott McCuskey (1915–1997) was a World War II US Navy fighter ace. He participated in the Battle of the Coral Sea and the Battle of Midway, for which he was awarded two Navy Crosses, one for each battle. By the end of the war, he was credited with 13+1⁄2 aerial victories.

John Holloway Cushman (October 3, 1921 – November 8, 2017) was a lieutenant general in the United States Army.Cushman was born in Tianjin, China while his father, Horace Oscar Cushman, was serving in the 15th Infantry.He was a 1944 graduate of the United States Military Academy. While at West Point, Cushman played for the Army Black Knights men's soccer program, where he was named a second-team All-American in 1943.In 1963 Colonel Cushman served as adviser to the Army of the Republic of Vietnam 23rd Division in the Mekong Delta.He commanded the I Corps in the Western sector of Korea's Demilitarized Zone from 1976 to 1978. He also commanded the 101st Airborne Division from 1972 to 1973. he died in Washington D.C from a stroke on November 8 2017 at age 96

Lieutenant Colonel Geoffrey Charles Tasker Keyes, (18 May 1917 – 18 November 1941) was a British Army officer of the Second World War and a recipient of the Victoria Cross, the highest award that can be made to British and Commonwealth forces for gallantry in the face of the enemy. At the time he was the youngest acting lieutenant colonel in the British Army.
