Norwegian women novelists

Eva Seeberg (28 April 1931 – 12 January 2019) was a Norwegian journalist, novelist and screenwriter. She was born in Oslo. She made her literary debut in 1949 with Undring. Unge skisser. Her novels from the 1960s and 1970s include Det er meg han har vært hos from 1952, Aldri mer alene from 1955, and Tid til ømhet from 1968. She wrote several short story collections, including Lykken bor på Bislett from 1987.Films based on her novels, short stories or scripts include Bedre enn sitt rykte and Hjem går vi ikke from 1955, Kvinnens plass from 1956, Vaxdockan from 1962, Det är hos mig han har varit from 1963, and Hjelp – vi får leilighet! from 1965.

Kjersti Scheen (born 17 August 1943) is a Norwegian journalist, illustrator, novelist, crime fiction writer and children's writer. She made her literary debut in 1976 with the children's book Fie og mørket. Her novel Teppefall from 1994 introduced a series of crime novels with ex actress "Margaret Moss" as the main character. Scheen was awarded the Gyldendal's Endowment in 1994 (shared with Bjørn Aamodt).Many of her books have been translated into other languages.

Frid Ingulstad (born 4 September 1935) is a Norwegian novelist, primarily of historical novels, many of them series. She has often been the best-selling author in Norway, and has published more than 200 books.

Toril Brekke (born 24 June 1949) is a Norwegian novelist, writer of short stories, children's writer, biographer, translator and literary critic.

Tove Nilsen (born 25 October 1952) is a Norwegian novelist, children's writer and literary critic.

Unni Maria Lindell (born 3 April 1957 in Oslo) is a Norwegian writer. She is best known for her crime novels (whodunits), but has also written a collection of poems and several children's and young adult books.
Lindell worked as a journalist before she became an author. Her first book Den grønne dagen ("The green day") was published in 1986. One of Lindell's most prominent characters is detective Cato Isaksen. Some of the Isaksen books have been adapted as TV films starring Reidar Sørensen.
Lindell was awarded the Mads Wiel Nygaards Endowment in 1998 and the Critics' Prize for the year's best children's or youth literature. In 1999 and in 2018 she received the Riverton Prize (Rivertonprisen), a literature award given annually to the best Norwegian detective story.

Edith Ranum (23 May 1922 – 25 October 2002) was a Norwegian crime fiction writer, novelist and playwright.

Vera Margrethe Henriksen (née Roscher Lund; 22 March 1927 – 23 May 2016) was a Norwegian novelist, playwright, and non-fiction writer. She was particularly known for her historical novels and plays set in the Middle Ages.

Karin Bang (3 December 1928 – 20 August 2017) was a Norwegian poet, novelist, children's writer and crime fiction writer.
