Norwegian women non-fiction writers

Kari Angelique Jaquesson (born 12 April 1962) is a Norwegian conspiracy theorist, author, fitness consultant and former television personality. She writes for the conspiracy theorist website Steigan.no and has been widely criticized for promoting climate change denial, COVID-19 misinformation, Russian propaganda, Antisemitism and transphobia. A 2021 survey by YouGov found that the public figures viewed most negatively by Norwegians were Donald Trump, Kari Jaquesson and Vladimir Putin.

Toril Brekke (born 24 June 1949) is a Norwegian novelist, writer of short stories, children's writer, biographer, translator and literary critic.

Marit Christensen (11 November 1948 – 30 September 2022) was a Norwegian journalist.
Christensen was a cand.mag. by education. She worked for the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation between 1977 and 2002. Here, she was a journalist, correspondent in Moscow from 1984 to 1988, and presenter for the entertainment shows For galleriet (1992–1993) and Apropos (1998–1999). Her time in Moscow earned her the nickname "Moskva-Marit" ("Moscow Marit").On 17 August 2013, Christensen disclosed that for the last year of Wenche Behring Breivik's life, the mother of Norwegian mass murderer Anders Behring Breivik, Christensen had been her confidant. The book was published in the autumn 2013, under the title "The Mother".

Tove Nilsen (born 25 October 1952) is a Norwegian novelist, children's writer and literary critic.

Sonja Hagemann (6 September 1898 – 17 October 1983) was a Norwegian literary historian and literary critic, especially of children's literature. She is primarily known for the monumental Barnelitteratur i Norge (Norwegian Children's Literature I:1965; II:1970; III:1973).
She was raised in Christiania (now Oslo) Norway. She graduated with a degree in economics at the University of Oslo (1919).
She first worked in government service. She worked at Dagbladet as a critic of children's literature (1946-1971).
She received the Arts Council Norway Honorary Award (Norsk kulturråds ærespris) in 1980.
She represented the Liberal Party in Oslo school board. She was a parliamentary ballot candidate from the constituency of Oslo in 1965.She was married to Otto Holmboe Hagemann (1891–1961) in 1925 and was the mother of geologist Fredrik Hagemann.

Tordis Ørjasæter (born 25 March 1927) is a Norwegian literary critic, biographer, former professor of educational science, and novelist. She has been particularly engaged in culture and literature for children. She has written biographical works on Sigrid Undset, Selma Lagerlöf, Tove Jansson, and Nini Roll Anker. She was awarded the Brage Prize in 1993.

Vera Margrethe Henriksen (née Roscher Lund; 22 March 1927 – 23 May 2016) was a Norwegian novelist, playwright, and non-fiction writer. She was particularly known for her historical novels and plays set in the Middle Ages.

Mosse Jørgensen (3 January 1921 – 30 June 2009) was a Norwegian school principal and non-fiction writer.
She is especially remembered as a co-founder and the first principal of a reformed secondary school in Oslo in 1967, Forsøksgymnaset. She published the book Kunsten å overleve med en tenåring i huset in 1969. Her book Fra skoleopprør til opprørsskole from 1971 was translated into eight languages. She was awarded the Medal of St. Hallvard in 1993, and the Ole Brumm prize in 1998.

Magli Elster (née Raknes; 21 November 1912 – 11 May 1993) was a Norwegian psychoanalyst, literary critic, poet and translator. She received the Fritt Ord Award, jointly with her husband Torolf Elster.

Birgit Målfrid Strøm (9 August 1931 – 11 January 2007) was a Norwegian actress, puppeteer, dramatic adviser, singer and non-fiction writer. She was born in Oslo. She was the daughter of the actor Julian Strøm and the sister of the puppeteer and actress Elisabeth Strøm Henriksen.
She is known for giving voice to the puppets Titten Tei and Jon Arthur Vimsen. Her stage adaptations include fairy tales such as Det var en gang and Gjete kongens harer, and Alf Prøysen's Teskjekjerringa på teater. Among her song recordings are "Pappa'n til Tove Mette" and "Gøy på landet" (Wheezy Anna).
