Emilie Amalie Charlotte "Emmi" Bonhoeffer (née Delbrück; 13 May 1905, Berlin - 12 March 1991, Düsseldorf) was the wife of anti-Hitler activist Klaus Bonhoeffer and sister-in-law of theologian, Dietrich Bonhoeffer. She married Bonhoeffer on 3 September 1930.Klaus was chief counsel of the Lufthansa Airline Company and was the leading civilian member of the military resistance to the Hitler regime. While occupied with raising their children, Emmi supported her husband's decision to oppose Nazism, assisting him on countless occasions both morally and practically. Her husband was arrested in October 1944 in connection with the plot to kill Hitler. He was sentenced to death in February, 1945, and killed by the SS as the war was ending on 23 April 1945.Emmi barely escaped her own death when her house was destroyed in the last days of the war. She moved with her children to Schleswig-Holstein to start a new life in June 1945. She was active in projects aiding war refugees, as well as anti-Nazi educational work and various humanitarian efforts.Emmi Bonhoeffer was also the author of Auschwitz Trials: Letters from an eyewitness.She was the sister of biophysicist Max Delbrück.

Edward Stewart Kennedy (3 January 1912 – 4 May 2009) was a historian of science specializing in medieval Islamic astronomical tables written in Persian and Arabic.
Edward S. Kennedy studied electrical engineering at Lafayette College, graduating in 1932. He then traveled to Iran to teach at Alborz College, at that time directed by the American Presbyterian Mission. In the Persian language environment, Kennedy made a study of Persian and became fluent in the language. After four years he returned to Pennsylvania and took up study of series of exponential form related to Lambert series while at Lehigh University. He graduated Ph.D. in 1939.When war broke out he enlisted with the US Army and was sent to Tehran to serve as an attaché, given his fluency in Persian. After the war he saw Sarton and Neugebauer at Harvard as he had taken an interest in early Persian and Arabic science. Then he began to teach at the American University in Beirut (1946 to 1976). In 1951 he married Mary Helen Scanlon and together they had 3 children: Anna, Michael, and Nora. He participated at the American Research Center in Egypt until 1978 when he joined the Institute for the History of Arab Science at University of Aleppo. Edward and Mary-Helen left Lebanon in 1984.
Kennedy died in Doylestown, Pennsylvania at the age of 97.

Luiz Felipe de Cerqueira e Silva Pondé (born April 29, 1959) is a Brazilian writer and professor of philosophy.
He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in philosophy. He was awarded a Doctor's Degree by the University of Sao Paulo, together with an exchange program with the University of Paris. He finished his Post-Doctorate at the University of Tel Aviv. Currently, he works as a professor in the Brazilian Educational Institution Fundação Armando Alvares Penteado and Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo.
He writes weekly for the Brazilian Newspaper Folha de S.Paulo and is the author of many works, being most famous for his book, "The Politically Incorrect Guide of Philosophy". He appears often on Jornal da Cultura, on TV Cultura.
Being of Sephardic Jewish descent, in a 2013 YouTube video, Pondé declared himself to be atheist but he would later abandon his views and become a critic of atheism and materialism. In 2020, he described himself as a "non-practicing atheist".

Geneton Moraes Neto (13 July 1956 – 22 August 2016) was a Brazilian journalist and writer from Pernambuco.Neto worked as a journalist for over 40 years in print and television. Among other roles, he was a correspondent for O Estado de São Paulo and a prominent figure at GloboNews, where he edited Jornal Nacional.
Neto's book Dossiê Brasília: os segredos dos presidentes (Portuguese for 'Brasília Dossier: Presidential Secrets'), first published in 1997, is a series of interviews with former presidents of Brazil.He died of an aortic aneurysm.

Josimar Melo (born 1954 in Recife, Brazil), is a food & wine journalist for the major Brazilian daily newspaper, Folha de S.Paulo. He owns and directs the gastronomic website Basilico and contributes to several publications in Brazil and abroad. A former student of Architecture in University of São Paulo, he teaches History of Gastronomy at Anhembi Morumbi University, also in São Paulo. In 1995 he created the main gastronomic event in Brazil at the time, “Boa Mesa”, which was sold in 2000.
He is the president of the South American jury for the World's 50 Best Restaurants, chosen annually by Restaurant Magazine.
Among his books are Guia Josimar Melo (first published in 1992; a comprehensive gourmet guide of São Paulo, yearly updated ); A Cerveja ("The Beer"); and Berinjela se Escreve com J (a lexicon for the correct spelling of around 10,000 gastronomy-related words in several idioms).

Robert W. Lichtwardt (November 27, 1924 – February 9, 2018) was a Brazilian-born American mycologist specializing in the study of arthropod-associated, gut-dwelling fungi (trichomycetes). He is known for his online monograph and interactive keys to trichomycete taxa.

M. Rainer Lepsius (8 May 1928 – 2 October 2014) was a German sociologist. A particular interest was in the work of Max Weber: he was prominent among the co-compilers of the (eventually) 47 volume edition of the Complete Works of Weber.
