20th-century Norwegian writers

Odd Eidem (23 October 1913 – 10 June 1988) was a Norwegian writer, journalist and literary critic.

Ferdinand Oscar Finne (12 October 1910 – 31 December 1999) was a Norwegian author, painter, graphic artist, theater decorator and costume designer.

Odd Brochmann (21 December 1909 – 27 October 1992) was a Norwegian architect, professor and children's writer.

Arne Durban (16 June 1912 – 18 March 1993) was a Norwegian sculptor and art critic. He was born in Kristiania, and was a brother of Halvor Durban-Hansen. His works are represented in more than thirty cities in Norway. Among his works are sculptures of Oscar Mathisen and Anders Sandvig, and busts of Rudolph Thygesen and Henrik Groth. He wrote art critics for the newspapers Morgenbladet, Morgenposten and Handels- og Sjøfartstidende, columns for the magazines Magasinet For Alle and Farmand, and biographies of Christian Sinding, Gustav Vigeland and Kaare Espolin Johnson.

Hans Peter L'Orange (2 March 1903 – 5 December 1983) was a Norwegian art historian and classical archaeologist.

Ella Hval (born Ella Signe Quist Kristoffersen) (7 January 1904 – 17 December 1994) was a Norwegian actress. She was principally a stage actress and was also an instructor and teacher at the Nationaltheatret student school.

Alfhild Hovdan (née Olsen; 13 September 1904 – 20 February 1982) was a Norwegian journalist, and later tourist manager for the city of Oslo for more than forty years. She is known for initiating the tradition of the Trafalgar Square Christmas tree, a present from the city of Oslo to the people of London, in recognition of their assistance during World War II.

Christian August Manthey Lange (28 April 1907 – 6 August 1970) was a Norwegian educator, non-fiction writer and cultural attaché.

Jon Lennart Mjøen (22 October 1912 – 3 January 1997) was a Norwegian actor, film director and screenwriter. He appeared in twelve films between 1936 and 1968. His film Stevnemøte med glemte år was entered into the 7th Berlin International Film Festival.
Mjøen was primarily a stage actor and debuted at the Søilen Theater in 1933. He was employed at the New Theater from 1936 to 1937, then at the Trøndelag Theater until 1938, then the Centralteatret until 1959 (except some of the war years) and at the Oslo Nye Teater until 1967. He worked for some time after this freelance, although he made his last film, De ukjentes marked, in 1968.

Pål Løkkeberg (2 August 1934 – 29 January 1998) was a Norwegian film director and screenwriter. He directed six films between 1962 and 1990. His 1967 film Liv was entered into the 17th Berlin International Film Festival.
