Silvana_Kane

Pacifika is a Canadian world music band formed in Vancouver, British Columbia by high school friends Silvana Kane (vocals) and Adam Popowitz (guitar) in 2004 and joined by Toby Peter (bass and drums) in 2006. According to Kane, who sings in Spanish, English, and French, Pacifika "is simply the Latin way of saying 'peaceful' in the feminine, except that we changed the 'c' to a 'k'". The group has released four albums: their independent debut, Unveiled (2004), and three with Six Degrees Records: Asunción (2008), Supermagique (2010), and Amor Planeta (2014).

Mariano_Vivanco

Mariano Vivanco (born 15 December 1975 in Lima, Peru) is a Peruvian fashion and portrait photographer.
He traveled the world with his family, who eventually settled down in New Zealand. Mariano moved to London in the year 2000 to pursue his career as a fashion photographer.
Vivanco has since become an editorial photographer, regularly shooting for Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Muse magazine, Dazed & Confused, Vogue Hommes Nippon, Numéro, Numéro Homme, i-D, DSection magazine, Hercules, and GQ.His portraits, nudes, and editorial work (in both men's and womenswear) are often in black and white. His subjects have included actors, athletes, singers, and models such as Cindy Crawford, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Naomi Campbell, Eva Herzigova, Emma Watson, Ricky Martin, Lionel Messi, Eva Mendes, Miranda Kerr, Chloë Sevigny, Dita von Teese, Donatella Versace, Dolce & Gabbana, Sir Paul Smith, Cristiano Ronaldo, Lana Del Rey, Daniel Radcliffe, and Sam Smith.The National Portrait Gallery, London displays three of his works: a portrait of model Lily Cole, one of stylist (and frequent collaborator) Nicola Formichetti, and one of choreographer Rafael Bonachela, (commissioned for i-D Magazine in 2004).
Vivanco has also produced films. He began with experimental videos having models mime to his favorite songs. These soon translated into spots for Dolce & Gabbana, Cesare Paciotti and Pull and Bear. He created a video piece for the Thierry Mugler menswear show in January 2011 featuring Rick Genest, known as "Zombie Boy".
In 2013 Vivanco was named as one of the ‘500 Most Influential People In Fashion’ by the Business of Fashion.

Robert_O._Wilson

Robert O. Wilson, MD (October 5, 1904 – November 16, 1967) was an American physician born to Protestant missionaries Wilbur F. Wilson and Mary Rowley Wilson in Nanjing, China. Wilson attended Princeton University and subsequently obtained his medical training at Harvard Medical School, graduating in 1929. He returned to Nanjing in 1936, where he assumed a housestaff position at Drum Tower Hospital of University of Nanking. Amidst the chaos and bloodshed that followed in the months leading up to the Japanese occupation of Nanjing, Wilson worked tirelessly at his post, eventually becoming one among only a handful of physicians who had not left the city by 1937.

Florence_Bird

Florence Bayard Bird, (January 15, 1908 – July 18, 1998) was a Canadian broadcaster, journalist, and Senator. She is best known for her work as chairwoman of Royal Commission on the Status of Women.
Born Florence Rhein in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, she attended Bryn Mawr College and in 1928 married journalist John Bird. They moved to Montreal in 1931. In 1937, they moved to Winnipeg where her husband worked for the Winnipeg Tribune. She also appeared on CBC Radio and Television as Anne Francis, a political analyst. Francis [Bird] made several appearances on the panel show, Fighting Words in the early 1960s.
She is best remembered for her work as chair of the Royal Commission on the Status of Women.She was a member of the Senate of Canada from March 23, 1978 until January 15, 1983.
In 1971, she was invested as a Companion of the Order of Canada. In 1983, she was named a recipient of the Governor General's Awards in Commemoration of the Persons Case. She was a member of the Junior League.

Antonia_Brenner

Antonia Brenner, better known as Mother Antonia (Spanish: Madre Antonia), (December 1, 1926 – October 17, 2013) was an American Catholic religious sister and activist who chose to reside and care for inmates at the notorious maximum-security La Mesa Prison in Tijuana, Mexico. As a result of her work, she founded a new religious institute called the Eudist Servants of the 11th Hour.
