Amanda Pelkey (born May 29, 1993) is an American ice hockey forward, currently plays for PWHL Boston of the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL). She formerly played in the Premier Hockey Federation (PHF) with the Metropolitan Riveters. She won the Isobel Cup in 2016 with the Boston Pride and was previously affiliated with the Calgary section of the Professional Women's Hockey Players Association (PWHPA). Her college ice hockey career was played with the Vermont Catamounts women's ice hockey program in the Hockey East conference of the NCAA Division I.

Junrey Balawing ( joon-REE; Tagalog pronunciation: [dʒunˈrɪ bɐˈlawɪŋ] ; born June 12, 1993 – July 28, 2020) was a Filipino record holder at the Guinness World Records for the world's shortest man alive measuring at 60.00 centimetres (23.62 in) tall. The declaration came during Balawing's 18th birthday celebration. Guinness World Records official said Balawing broke the record of Khagendra Thapa Magar of Nepal, who was 0.67 m (2 ft 2+1⁄3 in) tall.He stopped growing at the age of 1. Balawing, the son of a poor blacksmith, was born and lived in Sindangan, Zamboanga del Norte, about 865 kilometres (537 mi) south of the capital Manila. Although he was documented as the shortest living man, he missed the title of shortest man in history, which was held until 2012 by Gul Mohammed of India, who was 57 centimetres (22 in) tall and died on October 1, 1997.In February 2012, Chandra Bahadur Dangi of Nepal, who stands 54.6 centimetres (21.5 in) tall was declared the world's shortest living man ever. As a result, Junrey held the record as shortest living man for less than a year.Following the death of Chandra Bahadur Dangi on September 3, 2015, Balawing held the title of the shortest living man until his death at the age of 27 on July 28, 2020. He had been hospitalized for pneumonia. Prior to his death, he resided in Dapitan with his family.

Rémi Fraisse (French pronunciation: [ʁemi fʁɛs]; August 31, 1993 in Toulouse – October 26, 2014 in Lisle-sur-Tarn) was a French botanist involved in nature conservation. He was killed by the explosion of an OF-F1 grenade. The projectile was fired by an officer of the French police and his family are bringing charges against him. Fraisse died at the age of 21 during protests against the construction of the Sivens Dam.

Mariafe Artacho del Solar (born 24 October 1993) is an Australian beach volleyball player. She represented Australia at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro and the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo in 2021. Artacho del Solar plays as a right-side defender. According to the Women's FIVB World Rankings, she and partner Taliqua Clancy are ranked 5th as of 21 January 2020.

François Alu (born 1993 in Fussy) is a French ballet dancer. He danced with the Paris Opera Ballet as an étoile (star).He entered the Paris Opera Ballet School in 2004, and the Paris Opera Ballet in 2010. At his first promotion competition in 2011, he was promoted to coryphée, then to sujet (semi-soloist) in 2013.
He has been a member of 3e étage, an independent dance group formed by dancers of the company’s corps de ballet and directed by Samuel Murez, since 2011.
In 2014, he was promoted to first dancer (full soloist). Notable roles include Basilio in Don Quixote, the Golden Idol in La Bayadère, Frollo in Roland Petit's Notre Dame de Paris, and Byraxis in Benjamin Millepied's Daphnis et Chloé.On 23 April 2022, Alu was named étoile following a performance as Solor in La Bayadère. In November, Alu left the Paris Opera Ballet.

Eloá_Pimentel_hostage_crisis

The Eloá Pimentel hostage crisis, as it is known, refers to the October 2008 incident involving 15-year-old Brazilian girl Eloá Cristina Pimentel, who was kidnapped, taken against her will and held hostage before being murdered by her 22-year-old ex-boyfriend, Lindemberg Alves. Additionally, Pimentel’s friend, Nayara da Silva, was shot by Alves. The tragedy received major media exposure, not only because of the murder, but also because of blatant mistakes made by the São Paulo police. Eloá Pimentel was held as a hostage for 100 hours – the longest kidnapping ever registered in the State of São Paulo. The trial of Alves commenced on 13 February 2012, exactly three years and four months after the crime.
