Debbie Smith (January 14, 1956 – February 21, 2016) was an American politician who served as a member of the Nevada Senate for District 13.

Haskell Garrett (born May 4, 1998) is an American football defensive tackle who is currently a free agent. He played college football at Ohio State.

Robert Johnson (Rocky) Spane (born May 5, 1940) was a vice admiral in the United States Navy. He was Commander, Naval Air Force Pacific from 1993 to 1996. Spane is a 1962 U.S. Naval Academy graduate.

Edward Cornelius Reed Jr. (July 8, 1924 – June 1, 2013) was a United States district judge of the United States District Court for the District of Nevada.

Willis Ireland (April 29, 1927 – July 31, 2007) was an American college football and baseball coach in Nevada. He was the first head coach of the UNLV Rebels football team, UNLV athletic director and founder of the Battle for the Fremont Cannon. Additionally, he was head baseball coach at the University of Nevada, Reno.
Ireland was born in remote McGill, Nevada, 330 miles (530 km) east of Reno, Nevada. As the coach of the 1966 Wolf Pack baseball team, he managed Fred Dallimore, who later coached the UNLV baseball team, and is the father of former San Francisco Giants player Brian Dallimore. In 1967 Chub Drakulich hired Ireland to start the UNLV football program. During their inaugural 1968 season, the Rebels were undefeated until the last game of the season. The Rebels lost their first match against their in-state rival, the Nevada Wolf Pack. Ireland, wanting an award to symbolize the rivalry, obtained a replica of the Howitzer John C. Fremont had brought with him in his expedition to Nevada. The first Battle for the Cannon, with UNLV avenging their loss and evening the series. After a disappointing 1–10 record in 1972, Ireland resigned his coaching position.
In 1973, Ireland became the athletic director of UNLV. In this position he hired Jerry Tarkanian as the UNLV basketball coach. He was also instrumental in the construction of both the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas and the Lawlor Events Center in Reno. In 1990, his wife Jeanne Ireland was the Democratic Party's candidate for lieutenant governor; she lost by 15%.Ireland was a member of both the UNLV and the University of Nevada, Reno Halls of Fame. On October 8, 2012, Governor Brian Sandoval announced that one student-athlete a year from the University of Nevada, Reno will receive the "Bill Ireland Award."

Jack D. H. Hays (February 17, 1917 – June 18, 1995) was a justice of the Supreme Court of Arizona from January 4, 1969 to January 5, 1987. He served as chief justice for three consecutive terms, from January 1972 to December 1974. At the time of his death, Hays still held the record for the most opinions authored by a justice in any single year (100).

Warren John Ferguson (October 31, 1920 – June 25, 2008) was an American jurist who served as a United States circuit judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

Joseph E. Dini, Jr. (March 28, 1929 – April 10, 2014) was a Nevada state assemblyman, casino owner, from Yerington, Nevada. In 1996 Dini was ranked the tenth most influential Nevadan in a survey conducted by the Las Vegas Sun, a list that included Steve Wynn, Bill Raggio, then Governor Bob Miller and former Governor Mike O'Callaghan.

Albert J. Carpenter (9 June 1911 – 21 June 1999) was an officer in the United States Coast Guard from 1933–1968.

D. Elden Beck (April 11, 1906 – August 9, 1967) was a professor of zoology and entomology at Brigham Young University (BYU). Beck served as the chair beginning in 1962. Before his time at BYU, he served as the head of the Biology Department at Dixie Junior College. He served in the United States Army Medical Department from 1943 to 1945. Beck also helped develop mosquito control programs in Utah County and with the World Health Organization. His research led to the discovery of a new genus and five new species, along with multiple photographs in magazines and multiple collections in museums. In his personal life, he married Florence Robinson in 1933 and had four children. Beck died on August 9, 1967, at the age of 61.
