James H. Fields (June 26, 1920 – June 17, 1970) was a United States Army captain and a recipient of the United States military's highest decoration for valor—the Medal of Honor—for his actions in France during World War II.

C. Fred Chambers (March 22, 1918 – November 13, 1989) was an American oilman and political activist. He was the co-founder of several oil and has companies active in North America and the Netherlands. He was an aide to former President George H. W. Bush.

Joseph Bernard Reymond (3 May 1843 – 20 September 1918) was a French-born Australian politician.
He was born in Chabaud in France to farmer Etienne Bernard Reymond and Elizabeth Charriere Rond. He taught English from 1854 until 1857 before migrating to Melbourne in 1857, prospecting at Ararat, Ballarat and Chiltern. In 1862 he followed a gold rush to Forbes, where he set up a general store. He was an alderman from 1875 to 1884 and mayor from 1883 to 1884. He had married Margaret Kerr on 13 August 1861 at Wahgunyah; they had seven children. In 1895, Reymond was elected to the New South Wales Legislative Assembly as the Protectionist member for Ashburnham. He served until 1904, when he was defeated running as an independent. Reymond became director of Forbes Hospital in his retirement, and died at Forbes in 1918.

Hans Carl von Carlowitz, originally Hannß Carl von Carlowitz (24 December 1645 – 3 March 1714), was a Saxon tax accountant and mining administrator. His book Sylvicultura oeconomica, oder haußwirthliche Nachricht und Naturmäßige Anweisung zur wilden Baum-Zucht (1713) was the first comprehensive treatise about forestry. He is considered to be the father of sustainable yield forestry.

Heinrich Friedrich Trute called Wilhelm Trute (German pronunciation: [ˈvɪlhɛlm ˈtʁuːtə] ; March 5, 1836 – October 20, 1889) was a German miner and breeder of singing canaries, the Harz Roller.
