Viggo Hagstrøm (16 February 1954, Oslo – 19 January 2013) was a Norwegian legal scholar, and professor of law at the Department of Private Law at the University of Oslo Faculty of Law.He obtained the cand.jur. degree in 1979, and was appointed lecturer in law at the University of Oslo in 1980. In 1985, he obtained the dr.juris degree and was appointed as associate professor. He became professor of law, particularly property law, in 1988. He was head of department for the Department of Private Law 1992–2000. He was a member of the Study Group on a European Civil Code. He was a member of the Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters and held an honorary doctorate at the University of Copenhagen. He was editor-in-chief of Tidsskrift for Rettsvitenskap (from 1999).Hagstrøm died on 19 January 2013, after having been in a coma since November the previous year because of choking on an item of food served during a publisher's dinner.

Christen Sveaas (born 18 June 1956) is a Norwegian businessman, investor, art collector and donor. He is the founder and sole owner of Kistefos AS, vice chairman of the board of the Kistefos Museum and chairman of the board of Anders Sveaas Allmennyttige Fond.

Cato Schiøtz (born 26 July 1948) is a Norwegian barrister.
He was born in Oslo. He worked as a lecturer at the University of Oslo from 1975 to 1978, and also as a deputy judge in Sør-Gudbrandsdal before being hired in the law firm Schjødt in 1978. He became a partner in the firm in 1983. After 40 years, in 2018 he moved on to the law firm Glittertind.Schiøtz has also been active in the Liberal Party and is a well-known cultural figure in Norway, both as an anthroposophist and a member of the Bibliophile Club.

William Culp Darrah (1909 – 1989) was an American professor of biology at Gettysburg College in Pennsylvania. He also had an interest in, and published several works on, 19th-century photography.
Born in Reading, Pennsylvania, his was a specialist in paleobotany. Darrah was a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, as well a member of Sigma Xi and the Botanical Society of America.As an authority on the history of photography, he authored several books about 19th-century photo processes and photographers. As part of his interest in early photography, he assembled a collection of over 60,000 cartes-de-visite, which is now held at Penn State University.
He died in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.

George Thomas Tanselle (born January 29, 1934) is an American textual critic, bibliographer, and book collector, especially known for his work on Herman Melville. He was Vice President of the John Simon Guggenheim Foundation from 1978 to 2006.

August Daniel Ehrenfried Stöber (1808–1884) was an Alsatian poet, scholar and collector of folklore.
He was born on 9 July 1808 in Strasbourg and died on 19 March 1884 in Mulhouse, where he had worked as a teacher.
Stöber composed poetry and tales in the Alsatian dialect, and studied the culture and history of his homeland.

Oscar François George Berger-Levrault (9 May 1826 in Strasbourg – 24 September 1903 in Nancy) was a French philatelist. The invention of the stamp catalogue is attributed to him and to the Englishman, John Edward Gray.

Jacques Thuillier, (March 18, 1928, Vaucouleurs, Meuse – October 18, 2011, Paris) was a French art historian specializing in 17th-century French painting.
Thuillier was an honorary professor at the Collège de France, where he taught history of artistic creation from 1977 to 1998. He was a renowned specialist of French painting and, alongside the late Anthony Blunt, a leading authority on Nicolas Poussin. He published seminal works on the leading French painters of the time, including Simon Vouet, Georges de La Tour, the Le Nain brothers, Laurent de La Hyre, Sébastien Bourdon, Jacques Blanchard and Lubin Baugin. His publications on those painters often took the form of both an exhibition catalogue and a catalogue raisonné based on extensive archival research.
An avid collector, Thuillier donated, while still alive, along with his brother Guy Thuillier, his collection of drawings (2,000) and engravings (13,000) to the Museum of Fine Arts of Nancy and part of his collection of paintings to the art museum at Vic-sur-Seille. He donated to the city of Nevers part of his archives, his library, a collection of drawings and engravings, and his collections of photographs, thus making the Nevers Médiathèque into a documentation centre for French painting of the 17th century. Another part of these archives and manuscripts is held at the INHA (fr), in Paris.

Aimé Maeght (27 April 1906 – 5 September 1981) was a French art dealer, collector, lithographer, and publisher. He founded the Galerie Maeght in Paris and Barcelona, and the Fondation Maeght in Saint-Paul-de-Vence near Nice (southern France). Though the original Flemish pronunciation is pronounced "makt," the French pronunciation of surname Maeght sounds more similar to mahg.
