Pierre Jules Théophile Gautier (US: goh-TYAY, French: [pjɛʁ ʒyl teɔfil ɡotje]; 30 August 1811 – 23 October 1872) was a French poet, dramatist, novelist, journalist, and art and literary critic.
While an ardent defender of Romanticism, Gautier's work is difficult to classify and remains a point of reference for many subsequent literary traditions such as Parnassianism, Symbolism, Decadence and Modernism. He was widely esteemed by writers as disparate as Balzac, Baudelaire, the Goncourt brothers, Flaubert, Pound, Eliot, James, Proust and Wilde.

Joseph Louis Irenée Jean Abadie (15 December 1873, Tarbes – 1934) was a French neurologist who is remembered for naming Abadie's symptom.

Henri Génès (2 July 1919 – 22 August 2005) was a French singer and actor who appeared in such films as The Sucker, La Grande Vadrouille, The Brain, The Counterfeit Constable, and The Little Bather. He was born in Tarbes, and died, aged 86, in Saint-Cloud.

François Deguelt (French pronunciation: [fʁɑ̃swa dəgɛl], born Louis Deghelt; 4 December 1932 – 22 January 2014) was a French singer, best known for his participation on behalf of Monaco in the Eurovision Song Contests of 1960 and 1962.
