Aadel Bülow-Hansen (24 September 1906 – 18 November 2001) was a Norwegian physiotherapist. Together with the psychiatrist Trygve Braatøy (1904-1953), she developed psychomotor physiotherapy using psychomotorics, which can be used for the treatment of neuromuscular stress conditions.Aadel Bülow-Hansen was born in Kristiania (now Oslo), Norway. She went to primary and middle school at Nissens Pigskole. She continued her education at the Orthopedic and Medico-Mechanical Institute (Christiania Orthopediske and Medico Mekaniske Senter), which had been founded by her father, Victor Bülow-Hansen (1861–1938).She was employed by Sophie's Mind Clinic (now a subsidiary of Oslo University Hospital) from 1927 until 1945. During World War II, she worked together with the neurologist Henrik Seyffarth to find treatments for work-related stress. She came to understand that there might be a connection between muscle tension, respiration, and mental trauma. Bülow-Hansen saw how important controlled respiration was to contributing to a healthy body, and that it can also lead to control of the emotions.She was the first physiotherapist to be named to the First Class of the Royal Norwegian Order of St. Olav, and in 2000, she was named as the physiotherapist of the century in Norway.One of her students was Gerda Boyesen, who later developed Biodynamic Psychology, a form of body psychotherapy.

Andreas Holmsen (5 June 1906 – 20 February 1989) was a Norwegian historian, author, and educator. He is most commonly associated with his textbook Norges historie fra de eldste tider til 1660 (Norwegian History from the Oldest Times to 1660), which is a standard introduction to early Norwegian history.

Francisco Calderón Guardia (13 June 1906 – 17 July 1977) was a Costa Rican politician.
Guardia was a member of the influential Calderón-Guardia family, born in San Jose, the son of Rafael Ángel Calderón Muñoz and Ana Maria Guardia Mora. He was married three times, first in 1937 with Leticia G.H.G. Bernini, second with Josefina Gonzalez and third in 1965 with Maria Luisa Lopez Mejia.
During the presidential administration of his brother Rafael Ángel Calderón Guardia, Francisco Calderón Guardia was Secretary of the Interior (1940-1942) and Minister of Public Security (1942-1944). From 1940 until 1944, Guardia was third Vice President of Costa Rica. During which time he served for five days (1 to 5 December 1941) as the interim President, while his brother was on a trip to Nicaragua. He was first Vice President of Costa Rica in the following administration of Teodoro Picado Michalski, 1944-1948.
After the civil war of 1948, Guardia and his brothers fled to Nicaragua. Later he moved to Mexico, from whence he returned to Costa Rica in 1958. He was again a member of the Costa Rican government as a deputy from 1958 to 1962 in the administration of Mario Echandi Jiménez. In 1966, he joined with his brother, Rafael Ángel, in forming the National Unification Party, and after his brother's death in 1970, Guardia became the most prominent figure in the party.Francisco Calderón Guardia died in San Jose, Costa Rica, on 17 July 1977.

León Ávalos y Vez (24 January 1906 – 1991) was a Mexican mechanical engineer who served as the founding director-general of the Monterrey Institute of Technology (ITESM, 1943–1946) and as director-general of the National School of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering of the National Polytechnic Institute (IPN, 1943).Ávalos y Vez was born in Atlixco, Puebla, on 24 January 1906 into a family composed by Ignacio Ávalos and Amalia Vez. He received a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the National Polytechnic Institute and a master's degree in the same discipline from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (1929).

Berendina Johanna "Bets" Dekens (later de Vries, 25 October 1906 – 13 August 1992) was a Dutch discus thrower. She competed at the 1928 Summer Olympics and finished in 17th place with her all-time best throw of 29.36 meters.
This was the first women's track and field event to be completed in Olympic Games history.

Colonel Antulio Segarra Guiot (January 20, 1906 – September 14, 1999) was a United States Army officer who in 1943 became the first Puerto Rican in history to command a Regular Army Regiment. Segarra served as Military Aide to the Military Governor of Puerto Rico Theodore Roosevelt Jr. and during World War II commanded the 65th Infantry Regiment.

Roger Duchesne (27 July 1906, Luxeuil-les-Bains, Haute-Saône – 25 December 1996) was a French film actor. He appeared in 30 films between 1934 and 1957, but is best remembered for playing the lead in Bob le flambeur (1956). He was the first husband of French film actress Yvette Lebon.Controversy surrounds Duchesne for activities during the German occupation of France during World War II. An history of French cinema during the war (1985), citing a French film historian, states that Duchesne had been among three film workers who suffered "serious sanctions" for wartime activities on behalf of the German occupiers; he "was suspected of working for the Gestapo." According to a 2019 review of the Kino-released DVD of Bob le flambeur, a featurette on the disc informs that the actor's "gambling debts caught the attentions of the Nazis during the Occupation, and Duchesne became a collaborator, actively participating in the torture of at least one member of the French Resistance." Not surprisingly, the review notes Bob le flambeur was Duchesne's first film since the war and he only appeared in one more thereafter.Film director Jean-Pierre Melville, ironically himself a Jewish member of the French Resistance during the war, recruited Duchesne for Bob le flambeur. According to one account, the actor had been prohibited from working by the postwar purge ("epuration") of collaborators. "Duchesne robbed a bank of 800 million francs--the same sum Bob tries to steal [in the film] in Deauville--then cooled his heels in prison writing adventure novels. When Melville tracked him down, he was selling scrap metal in Saint-Ouen."

Rear Admiral André Jubelin (28 July 1906, Toulon – 7 May 1986, Sanary-sur-mer) was a French naval aviator who served with distinction in the French navy and the Fleet Air Arm during World War II. He was a pioneer of aircraft carrier operations, and after the war commanded the French aircraft carrier Arromanches.
