Alfred Paul Ries (November 14, 1926 – October 7, 2022) was an American marketing professional and author. He was the cofounder and chairman of the Atlanta-based consulting firm Ries & Ries with his partner and daughter, Laura Ries. Along with Jack Trout, Ries is credited with resurrecting the idea of "positioning" in the field of marketing.

Salvador Sánchez-Terán Hernández (19 April 1934 – 31 December 2022) was a Spanish politician from the Union of the Democratic Centre (UCD) who served as Minister of Labour from May to September 1980 and previously as Minister of Transport and Communications from February 1978 to May 1980.Sánchez-Terán died on 31 December 2022, at the age of 88.

Marit Christensen (11 November 1948 – 30 September 2022) was a Norwegian journalist.
Christensen was a cand.mag. by education. She worked for the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation between 1977 and 2002. Here, she was a journalist, correspondent in Moscow from 1984 to 1988, and presenter for the entertainment shows For galleriet (1992–1993) and Apropos (1998–1999). Her time in Moscow earned her the nickname "Moskva-Marit" ("Moscow Marit").On 17 August 2013, Christensen disclosed that for the last year of Wenche Behring Breivik's life, the mother of Norwegian mass murderer Anders Behring Breivik, Christensen had been her confidant. The book was published in the autumn 2013, under the title "The Mother".

Dean Caswell (July 24, 1922 – September 21, 2022) was a United States Marine Corps flying ace during World War II. He accrued seven victories in the war. He retired from military service in 1968 at the rank of colonel. He was the last living Marine Corps flying ace of World War II.

Vernon_Dvorak

Vernon Francis Dvorak (November 15, 1928 – September 19, 2022) was an American meteorologist. He studied meteorology at the University of California, Los Angeles and wrote his Master thesis An investigation of the inversion-cloud regime over the subtropical waters west of California in 1966. In 1973 he developed the Dvorak technique to analyze tropical cyclones from satellite imagery. He worked with the National Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service. He lived in Ojai, California, until his death on September 19, 2022.

Esther_Cooper_Jackson

Esther Victoria Cooper Jackson (August 21, 1917 – August 23, 2022) was an American civil rights activist, social worker, and communist activist. She worked with Shirley Graham Du Bois, W. E. B. Du Bois, Edward Strong, and Louis E. Burnham, and was one of the founding editors of the magazine Freedomways, a theoretical, political and literary journal published from 1961 to 1985. She also served as organizational and executive secretary at the Southern Negro Youth Congress.

Robert Awtry Locker (March 15, 1938 – August 15, 2022) was an American Major League Baseball right-handed pitcher. He pitched from 1965 to 1975 for five different teams. The sinker-balling Locker never made a start in his big-league career.

Dennis_Egan

Dennis William Egan (March 3, 1947 – June 28, 2022) was an American politician who was a member of the Alaska Senate representing Juneau from April 19, 2009, until January 15, 2019. A member of the Democratic Party, he previously served as the mayor of Juneau from February 13, 1995, to October 3, 2000, and was a member of the local assembly prior to that. Outside of politics, he was known for his work as a radio broadcaster, most notably for KINY, and was inducted to the Alaskan Broadcaster Association's Hall of Fame in 2001.
