Christian Dubois-Millot, pen name Christian Millau (French pronunciation: [kʁistjɑ̃ mijo], 30 December 1928 – 5 August 2017), was a French food critic and author.
Born in Paris, he began his career as a journalist in the "interior policy" department of Le Monde newspaper. In 1965 he founded the Gault Millau restaurant guide Le Nouveau Guide with Henri Gault and André Gayot. He launched the famed Gault & Millau guide in 1969 with Henri Gault, which helped galvanise the movement of young French chefs developing lighter, more inventive and beautiful looking dishes. Some 100,000 copies of the guide were sold that year. He was originally slated to be one of the judges at the historic Judgment of Paris wine tasting event of 1976 but was replaced by his brother Claude Dubois-Millot.His friends announced his death on 7 August 2017 at the age of 88.

Michel Diefenbacher (15 July 1947, in Sarrebourg – 9 October 2017) was a French politician and member of the National Assembly of France. He represented the Lot-et-Garonne department, and was a member of the Union for a Popular Movement.

Albert Bouvet (28 February 1930 – 20 May 2017) was a French professional cyclist. He won Paris–Tours in 1956 and remained the last Frenchman to win until Jacky Durand won in 1998. His name is also associated with Paris–Roubaix, as an organiser and discoverer of new sections of pavé.The Albert Bouvet Trophy is a race between Saint Gregory and Saint-Georges-de-Reintembault in Ille et Vilaine.

Josy (Yossef) Eisenberg (12 December 1933 – 8 December 2017) was a French television producer and rabbi. A Hasidic Jew of Polish origin (his father Oscar (Ovadia) was a Polish-born rabbi), he produced an animated TV show, À bible ouverte, which has been running on France 2 since the early 1960s. He was also the co-scenarist of the movie The Adventures of Rabbi Jacob. and wrote a number of different books including Seven Lights: On the Major Jewish Festivals with Adin Steinsaltz and Job ou Dieu dans la tempête with Elie Wiesel.
Rabbi Eisenberg died on 8 December 2017 at 83 years old.

Michel Léon Chapuis (French pronunciation: [miʃɛl ʃapɥi]) (15 January 1930 – 12 November 2017) was a French classical organist and pedagogue. He was especially known as an interpreter of the French and the German Baroque masters and dedicated to historically informed performances.

Jean-Claude Bouillon (27 December 1941 – 31 July 2017) was a French actor. He appeared in more than eighty films from 1966 until 2015.

Charles Stewart (May 21, 1927 – January 20, 2017) was an American photographer best known for his portraits of jazz singers and musicians such as Louis Armstrong, Count Basie, John Coltrane, Ella Fitzgerald, and Miles Davis, as well as artists in the R&B and salsa genres. Stewart's photographs have graced more than 2,000 album covers.
