Ohio State Buckeyes baseball players

Frederick Rankin Taylor (December 3, 1924 – January 6, 2002) was a college men's basketball coach for Ohio State University from 1959 to 1976. Prior to that, he played baseball for the Washington Senators.

Howard Albert "Hopalong" Cassady (March 2, 1934 – September 20, 2019) was an American football halfback and split end who played in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Ohio State Buckeyes, where he won the Heisman Trophy in 1955. Cassady played in the NFL for eight seasons, seven of them for the Detroit Lions, with whom he won the 1957 NFL Championship Game. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1979.

Donald Grate (August 27, 1923 – November 22, 2014) was an American former professional baseball and pro basketball player. He played both Major League Baseball as a right-handed pitcher for the Philadelphia Phillies (seven games pitched over two seasons, 1945–1946) and NBA basketball as a small forward/shooting guard for the Sheboygan Redskins (two games played during the 1949–1950 season). Grate was listed at 6 feet 2 inches (1.88 m) tall and 180 pounds (82 kg).

John Douglas Dagenhard (April 25, 1917 – July 16, 2001) was a Major League Baseball pitcher. The 6 ft 2 in (1.88 m), 195 lb (88 kg) right-hander appeared in two games for the Boston Braves at the end of the 1943 season.
Dagenhard is one of many ballplayers who only appeared in the major leagues during World War II. He made his major league debut on September 28, 1943, and pitched scoreless relief in a doubleheader against the St. Louis Cardinals at Sportsman's Park.
On October 3, 1943, he was the starting pitcher in the second game of a doubleheader against the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field, the final game of the season. He pitched a complete game and the Braves won, 5–2. Both runs were unearned.
Prior to his MLB debut, Dagenhard played two seasons in the Class A Eastern League. He recorded a 26-26 win-loss record with an ERA of 4.27. There is no record of Dagenhard playing professional baseball after 1943.

Robert Barry Bonnell (born October 27, 1953) is an American former outfielder in Major League Baseball (MLB). After playing basketball and baseball for the Ohio State University (OSU), he played baseball for the Atlanta Braves, Toronto Blue Jays and Seattle Mariners between 1977 and 1986.

Russell Charles Nagelson (born September 19, 1944) is an American former professional baseball player. He played in 62 games in Major League Baseball outfielder over three seasons as an outfielder and pinch hitter for the Cleveland Indians (1968–1970) and Detroit Tigers (1970). Nagelson attended Ohio State University, stood 6 feet (1.8 m) tall and weighed 205 pounds (93 kg). He collected 16 hits during his Major League career,
