Tony_Van_Parys

Tony J.M.M. Van Parys (born 21 June 1951) is a Belgian CD&V politician.
Van Parys was first chosen to the Belgian Chamber of Representatives in 1985, on a CVP ticket. He was chiefly Minister of Justice in the second Dehaene government (1998-1999).
Van Parys was part of the 1988 parliamentary commission looking into the "ways that banditry and terrorism suppression are organized [in Belgium]." Together with Philippe Laurent of the Parti social chrétien he wrote the main report that detailed the results.
He was elected as a member of the Belgian Senate in 2007. Van Parys succeeded Erik De Lembre as chairman of the board of directors of Ghent's Arteveldehogeschool in October 2011.

Patrick_Dewael

Patrick Yvonne Hugo Dewael, (Dutch: [ˈpɑtrɪg dəˈʋaːl]; born 13 October 1955) is a liberal Belgian politician. A member of the Flemish Liberals and Democrats (Vlaamse Liberalen en Democraten, VLD), he served as Minister-President of Flanders from 1999 to 2003.
He is the nephew of the late Herman Vanderpoorten and the cousin of Marleen Vanderpoorten, who served as Minister of Education in the Flemish Government led by Dewael. He obtained a degree in law and notariat from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel in Brussels. Dewael served as the President of the Chamber of Representatives from 2019 to 2020 and previously from 2008 to 2010.

Pierre_Chevalier_(politician)

Pierre Antoine Marie Chevalier (born 8 October 1952) is a Belgian politician and member of the Open Vlaamse Liberalen en Democraten (VLD). He is a former Secretary of State in the Belgian Federal Government and was elected to the Belgian Senate in 2003 by the Dutch electoral college. He studied Laws and Criminology at the University of Ghent before he became a lawyer. He became involved in politics early on, first as a Trotskyist, as a socialist later on, and since 1992 as a liberal. In October 2000, he was forced to resign as Secretary of State by Prime Minister Guy Verhofstadt, who is also a member of the VLD, after it became public that he had been named in a criminal investigation in Switzerland.

Leona_Detiège

Leona Maria Detiège (born Antwerp, 26 November 1942) is a Belgian politician.Detiège was a member of the Belgian Socialist Party and is till member of its successor Flemish social-democratic party. Until 2014, she was a federal senator, succeeding Marleen Temmerman in October 2012. From 1995 till 2003 she was Mayor of Antwerp.
Detiège was born in Antwerp. Her father, Frans Detiège, had also served as Mayor of Antwerp, while her daughter, Maya Detiège, served as a federal representative.
